I'm for a guest worker program, but they must leave the country and get in the back of the line for citizenship.

Let's see if the tancredo faction in the House will compromise somewhat on a guest worker program as described above, or keep fast to keep the money flowing into their PAC's.

Funny, we have 4 Reps siding with the dems in a shameful fashion and you fail to criticize them but bring up Tancredo instead.

Sure Dane. Stick with the DUmocrats in attacking the conservative base to get an amnesty passed at the direct detriment to rule-of-law and national sovereignty.

Tancredo has said from the beginning that he will oppose any type of amnesty. The majority of conservatives and republicans side with him on this.

America taxpayers will not subsidize your desire for cheap labor, o commandante of our resident San Patricio Battalion.

No. Those of us who want America to remain a first world country will go to the mattresses on this.

95% makes a "faction?" Tancredo a dirty word for you? Funny about the money, where do you think the real money is flowing here? It isn't to the "Tancredo faction" that's for sure.

Huh? Germany has a guestworker program. It's doesn't work. We need workers, they come. Economy turns sour, we don't need workers, guess what??? THEY DON'T GO HOME!!!! Ask the Germans. They've even paid their "guestworkers" to leave. They take the money, leave the country and re-enter illegally. It's a joke. Do your homework!!! Don't listen to politicians telling you how wonderful a guestworker program would be.

If someone is already here, and working, in some vague legal status, why in the world would he uproot himself, and maybe a family, leave the country, and file paperwork to see if he can get back in? Especially when he is by definition too much of a lowlife chickenshit to file for citizenship in the first place?

Me too but the intake interview is in Mexico City, only males, ages 18 to 40, are accepted and the Mexican government picks up all the health and transportation costs.

Let me ask you something seriously. If the guest worker plan goes through and there are illegals who refuse to sign up, will you favor deporting said illegals?

The House bill you refer to allows 9.5 million immigrants over the next 10 years.

The Senate versions (I have not seen this one) allowed anywhere from 23 million to 30 million immigrants.

This bill will not see the light of day because it can not pass and the Senators do not want to vote for a loser going into an election year.

The unfortunate part of this is that we get no reform or enforcement improvements as was possible with the House bill.

Dane, you live in the Pittsburgh area. Here's a little story that might be of interest to you. Perhaps you'll see the light.

Today while I was talking to my boss a man came in and wanted to hire my company to transport Mexicans to job sites so that they could work constructions sites laying block for new houses built mostly by Ryan Homes. This new construction company brought ten Mexicans in to lay block and more are to follow.

The man that is bringing these Mexicans in says they will be staying in Tarrentum. I guess things are going so good in the Pittsburgh area that we need to bring in foreign laborers to do work that Pittsburgh Americans won't do.

That's Kyl/Cornyn....

It is an outrage that a GOP committee passes out a Kennedy bill instead of a conservative bill.

Totally absurd.

I presume you are talking about the illegal immigrants with this statement.

If so, I agree. Also, I would put in a provision that anyone who is deported for being here illegally can not come back in, much less get citizenship.
