Awwww, and I will admit here, that at age 5, I stood in front of Lincoln's statue in Washington, D.C. and cried too because he had been murdered. I recall it's a HUGE statue, but I haven't been back to see it... it might not be THAT huge at all.
It's THAT huge, onyx.
In fact, Lincoln could have won the Civil War all by himself, if that statue of him sitting is true to scale.
Since we're discussing Lincoln's memorial......
My daughter went on the 11th grade trip to DC. They were touring the Lincoln memorial, the tour guide kept talking about the Lincoln memorial. It was the Lincoln memorial this, the Lincoln Memorial that. After the kids were done, they walked down the steps and were going to take pictures of the Lincoln memorial, the tour guide was taking group shots. One of the bimbo's, immediately after, walked down by my daughter and her friends and asked, 'who's that guy?'
Fast forward a year later. My middle daugher took the same tour. They happened to have the same tour guide. The same speil at the Lincoln Memorial. When the tour guide was done, she said, now, don't be like that bimbo from last year and ask who this guy is.
A side note, she was the same bimbo who wondered why the white house was still around after the movie 'Independence Day' blew it up.
I'll bet that tour guide is still talking about her.
