AP) LOS ANGELES The marches against proposed immigration legislation are spreading in Los Angeles.
Some 1,500 L.A. students who have walked out of class are gathered outside Los Angeles City Hall.
L.A. school district officials said some 1,000 students from Los Angeles High School on the 4600 block of Olympic Avenue have walked out and are reportedly heading toward Hollywood High School on the 1500 block of North Highland Avenue.
Hundreds of students have already left Huntington Park High School, some scaling fences that school officials locked to avoid a walkout.
L.A. school district spokeswoman Monica Carazo said students have walked out from at least eight schools ranging from the San Fernando Valley to the wealthy coastal enclave of Pacific Palisades.
Carazo said teachers and administrators are accompanying the students to look after their safety.
The L.A. Police Department said the force is on tactical alert as a precaution because of the protests. But no arrests or major confrontations have been reported.
Both Senator Boxer's and Feinstein's lines have been busy all day. As well as their websites - they are so slow, that I couldn't even get an email sent before it timed out.
Rush said that from his sources, the number of people contacting the politicians today are comparable to those during the port deal. But...will they listen?
Did you hear the Q/A session during the Senators' lunch period? Someone called in about the CFR plan (I think) and the Orange County lady said she'd never heard of it and went to the next caller... I missed the whole question but heard something about biometrics and merging countries.
La E - sorry I'm usurping your thread with all these C-Span questions. Don't know where else to ask :)
I JUST NOW got through to Feinstein's office, 1:59 our time, 4:59 theirs. Talked to a really nice young lady.
I feel Boxer is a waste of time, but may register my "thoughts" at her local office anyway.
They will ignore us at their peril. Obviously, there's a panic going on in Washington, D.C.
D.C. is closed now; I'm going to e-mails.
I'll continue calling the Mayor's office until I get through, or maybe go down there: 213/978-0600
Then again, most of the people that are hopeless or foolish enough to reside in elay are foreign born, with no discernible allegiance to Amerikkka anyhow.
Maybe if they burn all the mansions in between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica tonight the congress will give them what they want tomorrow...
Usurp away, LOL! You're bumping it!
Did not hear the Q&A. I made calls today also to repeal CFR and vote for H.R. 1606.
Others on FR have made reference to CFR having to do with coming "North American Union." (i.e., One Happy Hemisphere.)
Ooh, that "lady" would try my patience and my restraint. Tell her to call the police on you.
Channel 9 just showed villaraigosa railing against Sensenbrenner's bill, H.R. 4437. What a puto!
I'm going to keep calling and e-mailing the Mayor.
He is a criminal anarchist.
Mayor's office: 213/978-0600 (Phone)
I didn't hear the question session...but if she is talking about the Council on Foreign Relations, instead of Campaign Finance Reform, that has the same acronym...
From what I have read...there is some "plan" in that group that favors having the USA, Mexico, and Canada MERGING into one hugh country with the borders between them totally open...
BUT, the caveat would be that the three countries would THEN join forces to guard the countries coastal areas from attack by China....
IOW...they feel that China is the big threat with a whole lot more people in their army...and so they want to pool resources...and have the ONLY place that would be "open to attack" would be one the contiguous coastlines on both Oceans...
If that is NOT what the caller was referring to...just ignore what I just wrote...and I don't know what she meant.
Cool :)
OK, now I'm really gonna be sick - *BLECKKKKKKK*
The drunken one just went into a long speech about how 98% of the male illegals have jobs and how badly they ALLLLL just "want to contribute to our society." It's sooooo easy for him to talk, living in his mansions away from the peasant class!
IT'S HIS DAM# FAULT WE ARE IN THIS MESS TO BEGIN WITH
I gotta be careful. Her husband is a one of those city goons that writes the tickets on street sweeper day.
I heard that on the John and Ken Show, they said that most of these "students" are D and F ones.
Mayor VillaRecnoquista was a founding member of UCLA MEChA.
Ping!
Jinx is on the scene!
Well, he's on the screen! LOL.
You wouldn't want to be on the scene...
Sorry I didn't answer you about what Session's amendment was...I can't find out..and there was so much cross talk that I lost track...sorry.
I'm furious, but like you, I hope finally FINALLY Americans are waking up and going....hey, that's not a good thing!
