"No it hasn't changed .. but truancy officers aren't going to go after all these kids for one day"
It's now the 2nd day, they skipped out on Fri and today.
This is what President Bush said on March 25, 2006
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/03/20060325.html
"Comprehensive immigration reform begins with securing our borders."
"To keep the promise of America, we must enforce the laws of America."
"One thing the temporary worker program would not do is provide
amnesty to those who are in our country illegally."
Look for the Impeach Bush t-shirt in this post

His compromise is basically...we will take the Kennedy/McCain bill because we have enough Republicans that will vote for THAT one over the Cornyn/Kyl bill...
That is a sarcastic way of condensing it...but he was talking about doing away with the part about making them go back to their countries and not allowing legality without it...blah, blah..
If someone else read his remarks different...I wouldn't mind if they point that out..
yeppers...sounds like Dallas...boy, those kids are gonna be afraid to break the rules in the future, huh??
Maybe Specter's is still TOO hard for the poor illegals to deal with??
Kennedy says that Doris Meissner, prior head of INS and, I believe, a Clinton appointee, is in the room. I believe it was Liberty Lee who this morning had some unkind words about her and her ability to run the INS.
It was called truancy when I was in high school.
You can bet the teachers won't call it truancy because I will bet you most encouraged this outrageous behavior at the consideration of the school principal. To these liberals, they don't see it as lawbreaking. Anything against the law is to be circumnavigated or ignored, anything not on the books is to be enforced.
Sounds like Specter is "disappointed and surprised" that Kennedy didn't just jump up and down in glee over Specter's compromise..LOL
I also just spoke to L.A. School Police. They and the LAPD are "monitoring" the kids in the street. Can you BELIEVE IT? Monitoring them "so they don't get into worse trouble." The police are on the SIDE of the ditching, law breaking, anti-American Latino students!!!
They are not even rounding them up and taking them back to the school!!!
What was it that Orwell said...?
Now we have DeWine looking like a GOOF beside Kyl...
GREAT...KYL just about challenged them to vote on the compromise...saying he would VOTE NO.
This sort of lawlessness only encourages more bad behavior in the future because it emboldens the lawbreakers only because they know the lawmakers and enforcers aren't going to enforce the laws the lawmakers themselves created.
DeWine looks like a little elf, but I think sitting next to Kyl, who I find to be incredibly manly, just makes it worse.
Leahy just asked about "The Presiden's AMNESTY PROGAM"...
HMMMMM.....I don't think that is how Bush said it, Leahy.
Might I suggest to my Representatives and Senators that first they secure our borders first.
Then pass legislation that prevents even one federal dollar (read pork too) from going to any state, city or municipality that does not vigorously enforce our immigration policies. That will shutdown all of the local ordinances that say the local law enforcement and government agencies may not discriminate against illegal aliens. It would stop the practice of issuing id to illegals.
The deportation issue (too hard to send them all back) should be ignored. The wall will be the drop off point at the border (let the Mexican gov't worry about their citizen's safety, health and welfare).
Leahy has got himself in a box by trying to bash Bush..
He threw out the word "amnesty"..like a bad word...BUT, it is HIS party that is wanting amnesty.
THEN, he says he wants to know what "side" Bush is on, which I think is so he can complain about it...but, he is afraid to complain about Bush, if Bush is on the dems side...LOL, what an idiot.

Sen Allen + fax (my senator)
Sen Warner + fax (my senator)
Sen Frits,
Sen Cornyn
Lindsey Grahma
Sen Specter
Sen DeWine
Sen Coleman
Sen Brownback
That works for me. There is a lot that could be done (including deporation) but after no many years (decades) of writing, calling etc. I am ready for something with a little more substance to it.
Specter just said that the Kennedy/McCain bill would NOT be easy..."not by any means"...in a tone that suggested that he will not buy into that bill as written.
He said that in response to Durbin's remark that the Kennedy/McCain bill would be the easiest to implement.
Cornyn on saying his constituents do NOT want the illegals to be able to stay, without going back.
Brownback, is REALLY far away from Cornyn/Kyl...not good.

Good... I'm glad they're worried about getting the boot. Although Cubans never will. Once they get here they're in like Flynn. Haitians are pretty much home free too. No one gets deported unless found sneaking in at the Mexico border
