Liberals Sour on Nancy Pelosi
NewsMax ^ | March 26, 2006

A poll by a major left-wing blog, Daily Kos, shows that liberals strongly support Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean - but turn thumbs down on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Results of the ongoing poll on March 21 showed that a solid 84 percent of respondents approved of the way Dean is doing his job.

Only 50 percent said they approved of the job Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid was doing.

And when it came to Pelosi, a paltry 19 percent approved.

Daily Kos notes: "A critic might say that Pelosi's numbers are suffering because of the beating she's taken on this site and the larger blogosphere the past week or two. However, Reid is very much praised around these parts, yet he got a bare majority approval rating."

A beating, indeed. Kossack Matt Stoller has chastised the congresswoman from California a number of times, including this posting: "Nancy Pelosi isn't doing a good job as minority leader... She doesn't stand up for her fellow members when they are fighting the Republicans. She creates incentives against aggressive behavior. She enforces an ethics truce, and lies about it. Despite all of this, she can still come around and be a good leader. And if she doesn't come around and start leading, it could cost us in 2006."

Another posting reads: "Pelosi and Reid are part of the old school that sits tight and waits for the results of the focus groups before getting on an issue. Good politicians and great leaders, like Dean, have a nose for where the important issues are and know how to get out in front of them."

Yet another: "She's two steps behind and never has a plan for what's obviously coming down the pipe. Find somebody who really wants to do the job, not somebody who likes having the title on her business card."

These daily kos polls are a good counter-indicator to how the average American (and average Democrat, for that matter) feels.

Remember Howard Dean's resounding success in the Iowa caucus.

Whenever I gnash my teeth over the awful job the Republican leadership is doing, I look at the two dem morons, and feel somewhat better.

The Repubs at least get their act together sometimes. The Dems have picked two of the most unpleasant people in the congress, and neither of them can shoot straight, only pump out their bile.

Proof, yet again, why you don't want liberal bloggodopes running the country. Dean is destroying the credibility of their party. Not that Reid and Pelosi do much for it either but at least they don't try to insult entire large segments of the population.

[Good politicians and great leaders, like Dean, ]

That statement speaks volumes about the mentality of the far left.

I whole-heartedly agree with that statement--Howard Dean was born to lead the left....lead them where, I don't know, but lead them he should.

Nancy Pelosi defines incompetence. Even among Dem'crats. And as bumbling and inept as most of them are, she stands out as being the most notorious example of all.

Stay the course, Nancy. You manage to make even RINOs look good to the electorate.

This tells you everything you need to know about the lefties approach to politics --- attack attack attack, no compromise, no debate, then attack some more

Howard Dean destroyed them. They wish to continue to embrace that which destroys them? Interesting.

It's ok with me if they run their own party though -- run it right over the cliff.

Horowitz said that studies have shown that political ideas in mixed group discussion moves to the extremes. I think the internet proves that. I think it also means that what you hear on the internet may not be reflected in the elections.

Maybe we will no longer have to constantly look at that tightly stretched face on TV news.

(something's gonna give there sooner or later and I would not want to be in the room when it happens)

First time I saw it, I thought I was on the Discovery Channel and they had just uncovered a mummy.
