A date. "I don't care about that as much," said the teen To the guys who think she did it all for you:
Think again.

The "Me" generation in full bloom ... If the parents of this spoiled kid want to flip the bill for the majority of her party, then who am I to criticize. But 10K on a drunken bender is a waste too me.

My parents are just happy that I saved up myself for the dress, and they'll obviously help me pay for everything else I need.Like the ambulance & ER bill after your $500 shoes get tangled up in that dress & you break your neck?

Is the prom the most overhyped, overblown, overrated thing on earth?
And as for Seventeen commenting on the importance of prom to these girls, gee, I guess they had noooothing to do with promulgating this attitude? ha!
I've also never understood formals where the kids spend all that money to dress us elegantly and then they're going to be grinding to 50-Cent and Yellowcard. It makes no sense. The Hungarian or Vienna Debutante Ball it ain't.

Jenna Cossuto spent $2,400 on her custom-made dress. She'll rent a 22-seat stretch Hummer to transport her closest friends to privately booked Gotham Hall. And then it's off to the swanky South Street Seaport at Bridgewater and afterward, a party in Crobar's VIP section before a long weekend in a Hamptons beach house. So is there a prom involved in there somewhere?

I suspect she'll treat him as just another Prom accessory, a lap dog on a leash if you will. But, in fairness, her date will probably be very similar in philosophy to this 'fine young lady' and will treat her the same.

Who needs a date when you're surrounded by your closest friends? Bought and paid for.

She is stupidly indulged by her parents as much as one of those 39 pound house cats that have threads posted here.

Gonna be hell getting the stains out of that $2400 dress after she sneaks one too many drinks and vomits all over it.

Spoiled brat. Where did she work to save the money for the dress? You can bet it wasnt McDonalds. More than likely she saved it from her lucrative allowance her parents provide her. Her parens arent raising a productive member of society, they are raisng a leech.
Being a male I never had this great dream of a prom being the greatest thing in my life. I was just looking for a chance to get laid.
To: Liz
They forgot to itemize the cost for the abortion afterwards to deal with the after effects of getting pregnant at that Hampton's Beach House.

He had better be from the same or higher income and social strata. She has all the makings of a Big City Socialite.

Given the girl's spending spree and activity plans for the night it seems to me that, in her mind, she's not going to the Prom, she's indulging a dream to attend the Oscar's. There's got to be a red carpet in her plans there somewhere.

Same here I wore a white dinner jacket with my black Sunday suit pants and shoes.
