No they're not Conservatives. All the controversies in the end (election time) will be long forgotten because the Republicans need the Conservative Base and the Conservative Base needs the Republicans. The Democrats can't win because their base, the Liberals and Socialist, are so far out of the mainstream of America whereas even if the Conservative base and Republicans can't see eye to eye, both views are within the threshold of American Mainstream as long as some compromise gets done. Most Americans can live with a guest worker program (may not like it though) as long as they see the border being shut down, a tracking system for guest workers and employers being held accountable for hiring undocumented illegals. We are in the minority of the Republican Party and that means, like any minority group, must be willing to give more than 50% of a compromise. The Democrats are in such a disarray because none of their minority groups are willing to accept anything less than 100% and they keep losing.

I hope you're right about the Dems not winning for your stated reasons. Sounds logical. To me Newt Gingrich is the only TC out there. But he would never get the republican nomination. We stand a much better chance of getting our way through the senate and congress. We must vote right, far right, when it comes to them. VOTE THE RINO'S OUT!

Most Americans can live with a guest worker program...

Really?

Can most Americans live with vaccine-resistant TB?

Can most Americans live without hospitals, which have closed down because our feckless politicians have sold our birth right for a mess of pottage?

Can most Americans live with another WTC-type bombing?

And no, we are not in the minority.

Perhaps the people who have laminated RNC membership cards are in the minority-in fact, I'm almost certain of that-but the Americans who want our pathetic, despicable government officials to finally start fulfilling the oaths they took to defend the Constitution are most assuredly not in the minority.

We're still in the majority, at least until the next pseudo-Republican president, and faux-Republican Senate is able to foist yet another blanket amnesty upon an unwilling public.

"Most Americans can live with a guest worker program (may not like it though) as long as they see the border being shut down, a tracking system for guest workers and employers being held accountable for hiring undocumented illegals."

Let us know when that latter part happens. It was supposed to have happened when Reagan passed his one-time-only-never-again amnesty. Guess you think you'll sucker us again, huh?

"We are in the minority of the Republican Party and that means, like any minority group, must be willing to give more than 50% of a compromise."

Uh, NO. The majority of the American people, and the Republican party, want immigration curtailed or frozen, and the border to be more than an imaginary line in the sand.

Stop being so limited in your thinking.

You look only at the GOP. Why ?

Has it ever dawned on you that a guest worker program will completely price low income/skill blacks (and whites for that matter) out of the job market ? Don't you think that whatever their politicians say they are realizing that ? Don't you see that politicial seismic shifts occur when there is this kind of clash between the socioeconomic survival of the led and the elite-serving interests of the 'leaders' ?
