Posted on 03/25/2006 4:45:43 PM PST by TheMom

Finally, the details have been nailed down!

The Eaker family is inviting FReepers to a Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot.

The date will be May 6th, starting time will be 10:00 a.m.. The location will be sent via FReepmail (if you are interested in attending send me a message). The cost will be $15.00 per person.

After the shoot, everyone is invited back to The Compound to stuff themselves with TheMom's Kick-Ass Enchilada's (it is advised to wear stretch pants).

...it is a SHAME we can't make it...hubby has plenty of shooters he would be glad to have a chance to shoot!

He took me shooting for a couple of our first dates.
I guess I passed the test!

That picture of TC always makes me smile.
I am sure you will have him in your heart!

Including my M77/22 (for the gals), I'm still pondering bringing either my M77-.243 or the mini-14. I'm a Ruger fan.

I ha vent seen a quail since Ive lived in TX,

The fields here in Northeast Texas used to be full of quail. But,I've lived here for five years since our escape from MA -- and I have not heard a single "bob-white!".

Folks 'round here claim that the $^%#^ fire ants have killed off the young of all ground-nesting birds. (Come to think of it, I have not seen a single meadowlark, either...)

:-(

Mason wasn't wearing pants when you watched him swim Friday, but I guess you didn't notice?

Gotta love the lowly SKS

So cheap you can buy six of the things just to hand out to the neighbors!

Absolutely! In fact I have a pair.

Not the most accurate rifle in the world, but they'll eat
up cheap Russian or Czech ammo all day long with nary a hiccup.

I would be so honored to attend. However I think we are celbrating Miss Victoria's Birthday that day, in Austin. Y'all be respectful to TC's legacy, or Miss V will kick yore ass.

However her Dad, Uncle and I will head on over to Red's in Pflugerville and punch some holes in paper in Honor of TC. Not like taking on the Al Clayda hordes, or the Fruit Army, but better than no shooting at all.

About 10 years ago, I'd sometimes hear that when I parked my car at the office, or when I'd come out in the evening. That was in the north part of Plano, near the golf course that borders on Central/75. That area is all restaurants and a big movie theater now, so I suspect the quail have moved on.

Lucky devil. The closest range to me is an hour drive; and it's very small. No End of Trail (sigh).
