We are not a "nation of immigrants." This is both a factual error and a warm-and-fuzzy non sequitur. Eighty-five percent of the residents currently in the United States were born here. Sure, we are almost all descendants of immigrants. But we are not a "nation of immigrants."
(Isnt it funny, by the way, how the politically correct multiculturalists who claim we are a nation of immigrants are sooo insensitive toward Native American Indians, Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, and descendants of black slaves who did not immigrate here in any common sense of the word?)
Even if we were a nation of immigrants, it does not explain why we should be against sensible immigration control.

The most lunatic notion is that admitting more poor Latino workers would ease the labor market strains of retiring baby boomers. The two aren't close substitutes for each other. Among immigrant Mexican and Central American workers in 2004, only 7 percent had a college degree and nearly 60 percent lacked a high school diploma, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Among native-born U.S. workers, 32 percent had a college degree and only 6 percent did not have a high school diploma. Far from softening the social problems of an aging society, more poor immigrants might aggravate them by pitting older retirees against younger Hispanics for limited government benefits.

Since when does breaking the law become a "family value", Einstein? And where did Bush say breaking the law was a "family value", Sir Issac Newton. He didn't.
The quote "family values don't end at the Rio Grande".
But I guess that quote is evil to you somehow.

I can agree with some of what you say.
I am not against a guest worker program if confined to Mexicans who come do the job and then go home.
Sort of like what we had during the 40's for war support.
I am against a program that lets in Willi nilly the kinds of folks that drove planes into the Twin Towers.
I also don't buy that crap about jobs Americas will not do.
If a person gets hungry enough they will do just about anything to stay alive.
To say there are any jobs in America that Americans won't do just smacks of elitism and self defeating smugness.
I have never believed that their wasn't some kind of honor in any job if done well.
Next thing you know we will be hiring the Chinese to furnish us with a military for defense from the North Koreans, Venezuelans, Cubans, Syrians, Iranians and of course Osama and any other third world thug nation.
Why, because the military may become a job that smug elitists Americans don't want to do.
For my sentiments these damn senators in Washington and more especially those RINO Republicans better get their heads out of their fat butts and listen to the voters.

To see the President talking about an amnesty program as a reward for the arrogance of current illegals makes me want to puke.
Me too. Think the President would get the message if we started sending him barf bags?

I still don't get this.
We're going to solve our structural deficit, and ease the crushing burden of entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security by importing millions of unskilled, uneducated-and in many cases, illiterate-"workers," who don't pay income taxes, make paltry wages-so that they still wouldn't pay income taxes, even if they were here legally-and send whatever surplus income they have south of the border in the form of remittances, which the government is not allowed to tax.
How exactly does that work?

Nice spin, Dane.

Your really digging here. Ok, backatcha... Your saying that Bush is not directing that statement at illegals?

Don't forget the social services they take from the taxpayers - such as health care, education, free lunches for the students, food stamps, and the earned income credit (if they even file a return).
Bush has a bad accountant.

Now let's define "family values". In traditional American terms that would mean hard working, family oriented, and socially conservative.
I don't see anything "evil" in saying those values don't end at the Rio Grande.

By the time Americans wake up, it will be too late.
By the time we do something about our elected Government it will be TOO late!

Thanks for the links, I read both and agree that something is dead wrong with all this nepotism and freidship promoting.
I don't have much trust in the head of DHS.
I have a relative who has personal experience dealing with the border situation and it's a lot worse than even the press or the minute men are able to tell.
There is so much corruption that none of are really safe in any part of America.
The only thing keeping the terrorists out are the terrorist.
They simply don't have enough training facilities to send them to cross our borders to do jobs Americans will not do.

Why did you leave out "law abiding"? Go ahead and put that in, no problem by me. I would make that morally law abiding, since some past American laws weren't that great, such as slavery.

The folks who anger me more than the criminal invaders, are the Quisling 5th columnists.
They are eager to wreck this country, to send it hurtling toward a bloody civil war, because they are only concerned about dirt cheap illegal alien labor today.
These greedy Quislings would sell their daughters to a Tijuana bordello, and then look you in the face and claim it was a "modeling academy."
The Quislings are worse than whores, who at least only sell their own bodies. The Quislings are selling their nation.
QUISLING: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.
QUISLING: A word Norwegians are not very proud of having given to the world: it derives from Vidkun Quisling (1887-1945), a Norwegian politician who collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. He established his name as a synonym for "traitor", someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country, especially by serving in a puppet government. Quisling was found guilty of high treason in 1945, and was executed by firing squad on the 24th October 1945.

Invasion is now a civil right, as long as the invaders aren't white. If the entire Chinese Communist Army were to come onshore they could claim that any attempt to prevent them would be "racist
I don't worry about the Chinese invading us,we've already been invaded by Mexicans that just wade the river. They are whom we need to concentrate on and RIGHT Now and this is for sure.

Well I see the hyperbole machine has shown up and the above was directed at me indirectly.
Before I go, just a comment, Travis you really shouldn't copy hillary's speaking style. It's beneath you, IMO.
