Last week, I wrote in this column that if the members of Congress had an itchy finger to censure someone, they should start by censuring an individual who has routinely sought to undermine U.S. foreign policy interests. That man is the disgraced former President Jimmy Carter.
This week, I am pleased to announce that the "Censure Jimmy Carter" campaign is now up and running in response to your outcry for action. You can sign the petition to compel Congress to pass a resolution censuring Carter at the website www.CensureCarter.com.
I wrote the "Censuring Jimmy Carter" column in part for therapeutic reasons. I've had enough of Jimmy Carter supporting the causes of terrorists and terrorist organizations while constantly trashing the United States. And what's more, I've had enough with him being celebrated by the "Blame America First" crowd for such shameful conduct.
For years, I've watched the shamelessly liberal news media proclaim Jimmy Carter to be a man of peace and shower him with an endless stream of flattering puff-piece news stories.
What bothered me about all of this is that I've watched Jimmy Carter go from one region of the globe to another and create more not less unrest. When a tyrant, dictator or terrorist is threatening to inflict murder upon an innocent population, you can count on Jimmy Carter to race over and provide cover not for the innocents, but for the evildoers of the world.
Whenever tyranny has risen its head and threatened the innocent, Carter has concluded that "peace through surrender" is the best and only option available.
Carter's weakness allowed the Soviet Union to grow in power and advance communism by force during the time he was in office.
Carter's weakness allowed the Islamic fundamentalist radicals in Iran to topple the shah, who had enjoyed the backing of the United States and our allies. We all watched for 444 days as the peanut farmer sat impotently, unable to muster the courage and fortitude to take decisive action.
When Carter finally did order a military action, it was a disaster, with helicopters crashing into the desert sands of eastern Iran.
Carter's track record of failure was supposed to be behind us. The people of this country sent a loud and clear message that the era of kowtowing to tyrants was over, and elected Ronald Reagan to serve as commander in chief.
Yet, somehow since then Jimmy Carter has managed to maneuver his way into the foreign policy hotspots around the world. He sided with the totalitarian North Korean regime (one of the three members of the "Axis of Evil") and is responsible for the growing nuclear crisis we now face.
He sided with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro against U.S. foreign policy. Repeatedly.
He sided with the terrorist group Hamas over the U.S. and our war on terror. And Hamas isn't your "can't we all just get along" brand of terrorist group; it is responsible for more deaths of innocent civilians than any other Palestinian terrorist organization. And Jimmy Carter is now urging the international community to provide Hamas with massive amounts of funding and support.
He sided with terrorist Yasser Arafat and the PLO against the United States.
He sided with Marxist thug Hugo Chavez. Apparently he cringed at the notion that Cindy Sheehan might outdo him in shameless conduct by coddling murderous dictators who have called for the overthrow of the United States government.
Again and again and again, Jimmy Carter has rushed to the aid of those who cause the world harm and who wish a horrific fate for the United States of America.
Surely this is conduct worthy of a statement of condemnation by the United States Congress.
That is exactly what a resolution of censure is. It's a non-binding process of congressional reprimand. And Jimmy Carter should be subject to such a reprimand strongly worded and unflinching in its criticism.
Instead, for political reasons we have Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., pushing to censure President Bush for his administration's approval of the use of wiretaps between suspected terrorists.
Apparently, Russ Feingold needs to burnish his progressive credentials with the core liberal base of the Democrat Party. He is trying to put together a 2008 presidential campaign, and he's willing to undermine the fight against terrorism if it means he can gain an edge in the Democrat Party's presidential primaries.
And for that seditious behavior he was awarded CNN's "Political Play of the Week."
But that's not what bothers me the most.
What I cannot understand is what kind of Orwellian world we live in that the news media could celebrate a man who coddles dictators that would be Jimmy Carter while the man who gets tough on the terrorists President George W. Bush is threatened with congressional reprimand.
Russ Feingold has the right idea: censure.
He just has the wrong president in mind.
Please, join with me and tens of thousands of other Americans as we demand that Congress immediately issue a resolution of censure against the shameful Jimmy Carter. Sign our "Censure Jimmy Carter" petition right now at www.CensureCarter.com.
Fantastic Idea!! Where and HOW do we begin?
Bump for later reading!
Whenever I think of Jimmy Carter I feel the same way about his memorial as well :-)
Jimmy Carter is the top of a long list of foolish promoters of the Blame America First philosophy.
After we hit this guy, let's move down to a former Vice-President who has made a fool of himself with his anti-American rantings in the Middle East --- Al Gore.
What is it about bitter losers like Carter and Gore who feel that an America that they don't lead is unworthy?
Maybe these two characters are the unworthy ones!
Bring on the Censure. It the olden days, it would be "Bring on the Noose."
LOL!!!
thank God!!! It is about time- Carter is a sc*mbag leftist lover who produced the most awful administration in this nation's history.
I just signed it, its easy........
I'd love to censure that dog squeeze Jimmy Carter. I'll happily provide my name and street address, but not my email address. Thanks anyway.
Thanks,
Guess I should have read the whole thing. Signed it just now and feel much better. Will also be sending it around.

Ford used a little political "muscle" to squeeze Reagan out of that nomination. The result was Carter being elected president.
The Carter presidency (it was only 4 years but it felt like 20) was marked by his cowardice. His cowardice translated into an international view of the United States of America's cowardice, and the Islamofascists picked up on that like a shark detects blood in the water.
Don't know, but when you find out PLEASE let me know!!!
Here's the link as posted above. I didn't see it at first either.
Send it to friends and relatives.
