Kelo has nothing to do with this project, the ability to use eminent domain to build roads was established years and years ago.
Most of what I've read from rural opponents (letters to editors, rants here) have suggested that they don't know much about the actual proposal, because most of the arguments are based on straw men, misconceptions, and myths. I'd urge researching material from both sides and don't simply take the opponents word for it. Too many flat out lies flying around about this Trans Texas Corridor.

Agreed, Kelo has nothing to do with this, But it has made people pay attention to the project (which people here who didn't have land affected didn't overmuch). The actual objections where I live have to do with :
- Ambiguity over jurisdiction of corridor in sovereignty and Law enforcement.
- More people moving here to commute to Dallas.
- Cost of infrastructure improvements (and having to widen roads which would in this case involve Eminent domain again)
We are west of Sherman / Dennison and experiencing growing pains just from the build up of US75.

(I would have gotten away with it too - if it weren't for those meddling kids and their stupid dog.)
