I think standard wall might not be enough. Not when we are facing full military equipment. I am thinking DMZ like, reinforced concrete walls built into hillsides, razorwire, tank traps and the like. It is relatively cheap, and our combat engineers could put it up quickly, it is what they are trained and equipped to do. We can always pull in chain gangs, or hire huge numbers of migrants for cheap labor. Plus we need to give the border patrol full military equipment, bring them up to light infantry standards. Back them up with National Guard units. In that humvee incident, enforce our laws with LAWs. If Mexico whines, tell them to get out of our internal affairs.

"in Laredo, Texas. U.S. authorities grabbed two completed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), materials for making 33 more, military-style grenades, 26 grenade triggers, large quantities of AK-47 and AR-15 assault rifles, 1,280 rounds of ammunition, silencers, machine gun assembly kits, 300 primers, bullet-proof vests, police scanners, sniper scopes, narcotics, and cash."Wow. I'm out of words.

Sir... sir, our President has asked us to carry on a "civil debate." Please refrain from showing emotions about your country being over-run by illegals and God-knows-what else. Please allow your Republican White House, Senate, House of Representatives and Supreme Court to figure this out for you. As you know they have your best interest in mind and always act and behave "civilly"

If it isn't already, it will be soon enough.

So who is the head of the INS? We should start a movement to demand his firing.

(Have you seen some of the banners and signs held by the "peaceful demonstrators" who were -- ahem -- marching in support of the American Dream in Phoenix this week? The sentiment was more "Yanqui Go Home to Europe" and "We Hate Whites." More La Raza than American Dream, if you ask me.) 15I live in Mesa (a suburb of Phoenix), and that little stunt the illegals pulled is going to bite them badly. People here are livid seeing Mexican flags in our streets, tying up traffic and preventing us taxpayers from getting our work done. That crap might fly in LA or SF, but you DO NOT do that in Phoenix. I've heard from Kerry-voting Dems who are LIVID about the protest.
Since they were ostensibly protesting Sen. Jon Kyl, I think he just gained about 10 points in his margin of victory in November.

The illegal aliens and the criminals who hire them and the criminals who harbor them are getting out in the street making their desires known. It is way past time those of us who support the rule of law and secure borders did the same.
Join Veterans for Secure Borders, The Minuteman Project, Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, and other groups protesting amnesty for these criminals, and demanding the government protect our borders.

FReepers should be at this rally in strength. Saturday, May 6, in Crawford, TX.

Missing in action? Not quite. He's on his way to Mexico to meet with Vincente Fox (the enemy). They'll be giving each other a wink and a 'high five'..

Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) says that if you visit the border, you will find that almost everyone who lives there is armed for protection from illegals. Just imagine if you had to carry a gun when you go to the grocery store or take your kids to school! Coming soon to more middle class neighborhoods.

On an unrelated note, Linda Chavez's nationally syndicated radio has been cancelled, and replaced by all-Spanish language broadcasting.
Evidently, "conservative talk show host" is one of those jobs that Americans just don't want to, or aren't able to, do.

Build a wall, put troops on the border.. whatever it takes... You're living in a fantasy world where you imagine our party leaders putting America's interests first instead of their pocketbooks and their fear of taking action.

"For the best up-to-date analysis of what our government should do, read Rep. Hayworth's new book called Whatever It Takes: Illegal Immigration, Border Security, and the War on Terror. He calls for a security fence, 10,000 border agents, enforcement of penalties on employers who hire illegal aliens, cooperation between the feds and our 700,000 local and state police officers to enforce our immigration laws, more detention centers to keep illegals until they can be deported, and an end to the racket of giving U.S. citizenship to babies born to illegal aliens."Sounds good to me.
