I hope Abdul Rahman is saved but in a way that means something. If a face-saving solution is found in which everyone is happy, islam wins and their will be no change in this law.
I don't think that will happen because the only technicality that permits his escape from the death sentence is insanity and he is clearly not insane according to people that have heard him. Of course he could reconvert to islam...but, from what I have seen and heard, I think he would rather die a martyr than live as a Judas.
If things work for the best (and I believe they will), islam will be humiliated and Christianity will have demonstrated the power of Love and Freedom of Choice.
IMO, muslims all over the world must be watching this situation closely.
Islam is a an evil religious/poltical cult that is more dangerous to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness than Nazism, Fascism, and Communism combined.

The name of Afghanistan changed with the constitution. They didn't call it the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, it is officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. As many times as they want to say it is a democracy, it is a falsehood. Islamic law is in no way underlying...it is primary to and above the constitution.
Article 1
Afghanistan is an Islamic Republic, independent, unitary and indivisible state.
Article 2
The religion of Afghanistan is the sacred religion of Islam.
Followers of other religions are free to perform their religious ceremonies within the limits of the provisions of law.
Article 3
In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam and the values of this Constitution.
If seeing other people live happy and free gives you an unresistable urge to blow them and yourself to smithereens ... you might just be a barbarian.
If your religion measures its popularity by the number of folks who choose membership over death ... you might just be a barbarian.
If your only contributions to the world of fashion include the full-body pillow case for women and the suicide vest with matching shoe-bombs for men ... you might just be a barbarian.
If you include hearing about comic strips published in faraway lands as one of your justifications for murder and mayhem ... you might just be a barbarian.

That's a great analogy. I would love to see George standing in Kabul and making the "Mr. Moderate Muslim, tear down that law!" speech.
I seriously believe it would do wonders for his own career if he would remind the world that real men don't drink Bud Lite and real democrats don't swallow Taliban Lite.

Islam is a despotism. The peace of Islam is the peace sought by every tyranny: all opposition squelched, all dissent silenced. Sounds like a system Orwell's Big Brother would thoroughly endorse.
As you can see, If western making noise....the life of western army is in danger in Afghanistan. Otherwise, the people of Afghanistan will side Taliban. So, no choice....silent is better. Western are aware of it. They are not a fool. We just pretend and waiting for their mistake. Then we strike HARD on them...
