That's an unusual Hopper. Love the light.

I am not a big fan of Andrew Wyeth . . . because his light never changes, and his subject matter doesn't really. But he's an accomplished technician (his dad, whose work I much prefer, made sure of that.)

These 3 paintings give you some idea of N.C.'s vast range of technique.

I love Hopper. His paintings -- whether they have no people, one person or a group -- are just achingly lonely. I can't think of another artist who can convey any emotion that strongly in two dimensions.
