CAIRO, Egypt - A former Democratic senator and 9/11 commissioner says a recently declassified Iraqi account of a 1995 meeting between Osama bin Laden and a senior Iraqi envoy presents a "significant set of facts," and shows a more detailed collaboration between Iraq and Al Qaeda.
In an interview yesterday, the current president of the New School University, Bob Kerrey, was careful to say that new documents translated last night by ABC News did not prove Saddam Hussein played a role in any way in plotting the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Nonetheless, the former senator from Nebraska said that the new document shows that "Saddam was a significant enemy of the United States." Mr. Kerrey said he believed America's understanding of the deposed tyrant's relationship with Al Qaeda would become much deeper as more captured Iraqi documents and audiotapes are disclosed.

You worked in one of those ratholes? My condolences. LOL
Exactly. He lets them get way out on a limb and they all pile on until they knock it down from their own weight.
He always makes sure he is underestimated.
Clinton was always obvious because he always wanted attention. Obvious does not work in chess or poker.
And Clinton did nothing to strengthen his party. GWB has been stellar in the midterm and will be so again.
Have a great weekend. Gotta fly.
I can't hear you, I can't hear you.
It was my "shore job" for those years. Can't raise kids when you have to spend most of your time running a ship out in the tall water.
I would imagine sea captains end up becoming the worst parents. You can't be a dad and be offshore for months at a time, or at least, I couldn't. I had to get shore work and that was the best I could come up with.
My perception of the general public is that there is a significant percentage of them that are ignorant (not in a bad way...they are just misinformed), and yet there is another significant percentage of the public that is just plain evil -- they are always willing to believe the worst. Most of the MSM falls into this second group.
Sadly correct, you are .....
You're on target, Capt! I've been saying the same thing since CBS News pulled that boner regarding that "fake but accurate" nonsense at the height of the 2004 election, and particularly since Fox News Channel has beaten even the big three in ratings for things like the presidential debates, state of the union, and the like -- that the Big Three will eventually abandon their news divisions because their ratings continue to tank and eventually they can use that broadcast time for more profitable programming.
Hmmm...I think you're right again, Capt. I bit my nails and fretted over the fact that Bush allowed himself to be pounded by the anti-war types during the 2004 election, but in spite of all the body-blows about "Bush Lied!", he got re-elected (to the shock and disbelief of the MSM, whose exit polls were showing a Kerry sweep). Maybe, just maybe, Bush was confident he would win in 2004 simply due to the trust factor (his high ratings on national security and WOT), and that he'd keep the disclosures about the leftist lies for the 2006 election cycle, when he wasn't up for re-election, but which is typically an election cycle when the party in the White House gets clobbered. It's an interesting theory, yet I don't know that Bush is that much of a Machiavellian, but still.....
IT'S BRILLIANT STRATEGERY!
That's another distinction between he and that other Kerry.
Hmmmmm.... Perhaps Mr. Kerrey would like to fire off a memo to the MSM and DNC reminding them to get on board before the train leaves the station!
The MSM and the DNC needs to get on board simply because they need to stop granting aid and comfort to the enemy.
Seems to me this document release would be a goldmine for some news source to get a major scoop... except the MSM has painted themselves into a corner with the last three years of overtly biased reporting of DNC talking points. ABC seems to be the only one even looking at these things.
Interestingly, I would have considered ABC to be the one least likely to go after this story.
"My question is: What else did the bogus 9/11 Commission overlook?"
Jamie Gorlick ??
Yeah, but its only in print... and every paragraph posted has a spinning disclaimer.
I have watched in vain for any of the Big Three to air this story at the beginning of tonights broadcasts. Obviously they wish this recent discovery would be ignored. O'Reilly didn't say anything tonight about it either.
The Democrat party media lied, people died.
