Thousands in Phoenix at immigration rally

Thousands of immigrant rights supporters filled a major Phoenix thoroughfare Friday morning as they marched toward the office of U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl in a rally call for a more humane reform of immigration laws.

"They're here for the American Dream," said Malissa Greer, 29, who joined the crowd estimate by police to be at least 10,000 strong. "God created all of us. He's not a God of the United States, he's a God of the world."

On Thursday, more than 10,000 people filled the streets of Milwaukee in what was billed as "A Day Without Latinos" to protest efforts in Congress to target undocumented workers.

Hundreds of Los Angeles students walked out of their schools Friday morning to call attention to immigration issues.

In Georgia, activists said tens of thousands of workers didn't show up at their jobs Friday after calls for a work stoppage to protest a bill passed by the Georgia House on Thursday.

The illegal aliens and the criminals who hire them and the criminals who harbor them are getting out in the street making their desires known. It is way past time those of us who support the rule of law and secure borders did the same.

Join Veterans for Secure Borders, The Minuteman Project, Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, and other groups protesting amnesty for these criminals, and demanding the government protect our borders.

FReepers should be at this rally in strength. Saturday, May 6, in Crawford, TX.

I wonder if he's happy about the protestors - after all, his dream of a border-less world IS coming true.

I don't think he cares either way. There is a war on, you know?

So I guess it seems you're saying the people marching in support of the law breakers were the Presidents supporters.

I'm sure some support the Presidents immigration plan, but they were protesting Senator Kyl's immigration plan. That does not equate to supporting the president, nor did I suggest it did.

I wonder who is organizing these rallies

You seriously don't know? You think a self absorbed nutcase like Hillary! is doing it?!

No, Bunky. Let me tell you who is organizing this insurrection on U.S. soil:

THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT

Know why? Because they are in a war with the U.S., they want to control it's wealth and power for their own benefit, and getting as many of their people into the country is the way to do it.

Luis Valdez of Teatro Campesino: "We may not be able to overcome you, but we can overwhelm you".

And so they are, with the aid of the traitors and cowards we have elected.

So those people in Phoenix today you described as citizens and Democrats were protesting the House bill, but not supporting the Presidents amnesty/guest worker immigration plan?

And if not, what do these Democrats as you described want, and who or what plan are they supporting?

In case any of you weren't sure where the big money for the rallies and organization for the event in Chicago and Los Angeles are coming from, read the letter from the AFL-CIO for yourself. They welcome the current illegal as theirs and encourage legalization.

we already voted against giving anything to illegals in Arizona and our governor refuses to enforce Prop 200, even though the 9th circuit couldn't find it illegal, all the while she keeps saying she's sending troups to the borders as a smokescreen to get herself re-elected in November.

We have our own version of the French Riots brewing.

I was wondering if anyone else would comment on that potential.

I've seen the goons on their get violent before, with alot less bodies backing them up.

If I was LE in any of these cities, I'd be very, very afraid...

And IMO, citizens need to take precautions.

Tomorrow in LA could be real ugly.

The country does not like illegal immigration. Seeing thousands waving mexican flags and demanding 'rights' does not help their case. It just pisses off folk.

Fine! Let 'em! More folks who see this invasion, and that's exactly what it is, will get pissed and speak out against this crap.

Well, we had our day today of traffic congestion, interrupted business...and an overwhelmed police department (that the citizens were deprived of).

What's going to happen over the weekend? Are we witnessing a trend here?

"No, but it will get people motivated after they see their country quickly turning to crap"

Sadly, more people are concerned about how their final four brackets shake out than about the illegals marching.

Shows how stupid these people are. They are Mexican because the Spaniards aka Europeans came to this area. If they want to talk about who belongs here that would be the Indians. From what I hear the don't care for them either.

Big sob story in today's Tucson paper about the poor "immigrants" who had to take a day off from work to protest the unfair bills in Congress... They ARE only here to work, after all...
