Thousands in Phoenix at immigration rally
AP ^ | Mar 24 2006

Thousands of immigrant rights supporters filled a major Phoenix thoroughfare Friday morning as they marched toward the office of U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl in a rally call for a more humane reform of immigration laws.

"They're here for the American Dream," said Malissa Greer, 29, who joined the crowd estimate by police to be at least 10,000 strong. "God created all of us. He's not a God of the United States, he's a God of the world."

On Thursday, more than 10,000 people filled the streets of Milwaukee in what was billed as "A Day Without Latinos" to protest efforts in Congress to target undocumented workers.

Hundreds of Los Angeles students walked out of their schools Friday morning to call attention to immigration issues.

In Georgia, activists said tens of thousands of workers didn't show up at their jobs Friday after calls for a work stoppage to protest a bill passed by the Georgia House on Thursday.

"... what's our govt and FBI going to do about this insurgency by the socialists?"

A rhetorical question? Absolutely zip, zero, nada, ziltch. We're being overrun and the feds, who are charged with such border protection, turn a blind eye. The directive comes from W&Co.

I'd really like to see 150,000 illegals camped out on his ranch in Crawford. Maybe then he'd *get the message*.

And it will change if the Rats take over? (Hint-1996)

Billyjeff/George, whats the difference? Nothing.

Both sides suck & the middle class is screwed. Things better turn around or I'm gonna lose my sunny outlook.

Oh, good Lord! Should American's show up for a demonstration of that size we would be gassed and chased down the street by JBT's swinging batons.

Yell "La Migra!" Round up all of the illegals & their cohorts, send 'em to work on chain gangs building a Berlin Wall to keep illegals out of the US, seed the area w/ mines, hire unemployed former DDR border guards w/ AK-47s, tell 'em to shoot to kill and problem is solved.

It is not Americas job to employ millions of illegal Mexicans because their own government doesn't want to do so.

No other nation on earth would be so stupid or naive to but up with this despicable illegal immigrant situation except for the US.

What the hell did they think THAT would accomplish? Everyone gets to see how schoolrooms would be less crowded if they weren't there. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

AMEN.

God never claimed to be the God of the world, either.
The Bible flies in the face of that statement.

No, they wouldn't tolerate that for a minute.

"Thank you Bush and Bushbots for the continue segregation of our country."

Grow the hell up. Yeah, this country was illegal immigrant free before Bush took office. You can take your freakin' Bushbot BS back to DU where it belongs. I'm sure your man Kerry would have the situation in hand by now. Freakin' idiot.

Good point.

Leftism has made illegal immigration mainstream and most politicians will fry like a Frito and disappear in a flash ( politically ) if they go anywhere near opposisng it. Only a few have that luxury. No nationally known pols. I wish everyone thought like us and used their heads but sadly that's not the case. One of the first steps in stopping illegal immigration is it has to become the elephant in the living room to the unwashed masses.

When you see those thousands of criminals marching in the streets, it is a testimony to the utter worthlessness of the US government in protecting our country from invasion. That weakness on display is not lost on our enemies and another attack is surely in the works. We certainly do not get our money's worth when we send it to the federal government, whose major Constitutional responsibility is to "provide for the national defense."

"They refused to support the President's proposal as a good starting point; then they could have lobbied Congress to move the bill closer to a conservative ideal"

It wasn't a good starting point. Lobbying would have done no good. Your argument is or the "carrot and no stick" variety.

Bush has an option. He can listen to the people. Decentering him as a person with options doesn't fly.

That's the problem with this country - it's controlled by special interest groups.

I can understand the Catholic Church because most Latinos are Catholic. I understand the ACLU because their only goal is to destroy the country. But the NRA?

Very true. And money is really the issue and the solution.

Do you think we'd even need a fence at the border if:

1) Employers were fined consistently for employing them,

2) There were no public services -- including education -- for illegals to make use of,

3) Emergency-room treatment required ascertaining legal status and deportation after a patient was stable,

4) The tax system was not based on reporting income, but collected at the cash register, so simply buying anything here meant automatically paying taxes

We need to make it DIFFICULT to live here illegally. EXPENSIVE to live here illegally. Then they'll stop coming.

Ping!

As someone said early on, this does not help their cause with the American people...but it may sway the dunderheads in DC.

"I wonder who is organizing these rallies. Is the Hildabeast's enablers behind these media stunts?"

This is the best thing that could possibly happen. Helps to point out the differences between the good upstanding conservatives who want illegal immigration stopped, and the Meatheads who want to keep it going.

But the NRA?

Most of our "conservative" institutions have been taken over. Grover Norquist is on the board of directors of the NRA.
