Well the fact that you came close to Sharia shit is astounding. But I stand corrected: McGinty finally did the right thing.

NO RELIGION IN FAMILY LAW

BYLINE: BY SUN STAFF AND WIRE SERVICES

Ontario has formally passed legislation to prohibit the use of religious tribunals to settle family law disputes such as custody and divorce.

Premier Dalton McGuinty promised last year to prohibit the use of religious rules, called sharia law, to settle Muslim family law cases.

McGuinty surprised many when he said he would not only ban sharia but all religious arbitrations.

Exactly, but do you understand what you read or do you interpret it
based on your preconceived bias?????
Here's what went down.
Jews have traditionally been allowed to settle certain legal disputes
outside of the Judicial system using some Jewish arbitration process.
The Muslims petitioned the Gov't to have "similar" rights and use
their sharia law to settle certain disputes.
The LIBERAL Gov't of Ontario told the Muslims essentially "no
way, Muslims". But it had to appear fair and proceeded to basically
remove the prior right of any group (read "Jews") to use religious
law in place of the prevailing public Judicial system.
I hope that clarifies...
