[history]
Now hear this:
Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for 30 days. No non government approved electioneering messages may be transmitted over the internet for the 30 days immediately preceding a primary election.
That is all.
The above exercise was just a drill. But if John McCain has his way with his proposed rules for regulating political free speech on the internet, this is how we will be forced to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future until we can get the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act repealed.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
If the thought of losing your right to express yourself online makes you mad, it is high time you let Senator John McCain know how you feel.

I was answering you question in your post 741, as you wondered whether you had imagined that the First Amendment is in the Bill of Rights. You imagined it.

You have my full support.
I hope you continue to network to find a unified voice to oppose this.

sorry, I was mocking the liberal concept of the constitution as a "living, breathing document."
If liberals want us to stop calling them traitors, they should stop doing traitorous things.

I think this is a continuation of Jim's rant against McCain yesterday/ He opens with the caveat "This is a drill" in order to get us ready for that day in the future when the enforcement of the McCain sponsored law will be the order of the day and presumably "taken for granted" .
Believe me, an attempted enforcement which could stretch its province to quiet political or partisan statements on Free Republic would result in the most vociferous protest and demonstrations you have ever seen. It WILL NOT happen.
I would be very surprised if FR didn't continue on as usual tomorrow.

As of now I have little respect for cowards and fence sitters unable to defend the beliefs of the majority in this country. It's most obvious with the border issue. The Dems are busting their non-existent pelvics on a non-existent fence whilst I type.
Your post @ 704 is a keeper, btw.

Great. McCain needs a reminder of our right to Freedom of Speech.

I strongly agree.
I think we ought to have as many email/fax/call
RUSH
HANNITY
AND EVEN O'RIELLY with this.
I realize O'Rielly might be a tough nut to crack but more folks listen to him who are not in our choir already. And, if we could get him on board, he'd be a toughy in our corner.

The thread I posted above is the way we'll have to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future if John McCain successfully pushes through his new regulations for political speech on the Internet. We should know more by Monday. This might shape up to be a great opportunity to not only tell greasy politicians from both Big Stupid Government parties to blow it out their butts (and ignore their stupid laws), but to educate tens of millions about Jury Nullification.
Time to take our country back from parasitic politicians. Speak, tagline, speak!
And root for The Lump!

When the time comes, we keep on posting. Harder and louder than ever. This battle has to go to the Supreme Court. I don't even want the blogger exemption to pass. The unconstitutional McCain-Feingold must be struck down in its entirety!! It's all or nothing. That's the JR we all know!! It's time to rid the political landscape of McCain/Feingold once and for all!

Not to change the subject but these are perilous times.
I personally believe that the United States was created and nurtured by God for a specific reason.
With each passing day that reason becomes more apparent to those who fully believe that the bible is Gods word.
What we have going on in the United States is a fight between good and evil.
Some will laugh, snicker and belittle but I believe Satan is working overtime to tear this country apart piece by piece by sowing decent amongst it citizens.
I see the Democrats and RINO Republicans as weak when it comes to holding dear what brave men died for in past wars.

Thanks.
Will be plenty used.
I pray lots of lurkers use them, too.
I pray that there be hearing hearts and minds in the offices contacted.
I pray that the staffers and the politicians will be shaken and sobered to their bones by the Holy Spirit of Almighty God invading their offices, minds and hearts with the importance of this issue from God's perspective. Only Holy Spirit can keep them awake nights until they say uncle and do the right thing on this.

Good night and pray for this great nation.
