"U.S. War Plan Leaked to Iraqis by Russian Ambassador" Documents dated March 5-8, 2003

Two Iraqi documents dated in March 2003 — on the eve of the U.S.-led invasion — and addressed to the secretary of Saddam Hussein, describe details of a U.S. plan for war. According to the documents, the plan was disclosed to the Iraqis by the Russian ambassador.

The first document (CMPC-2003-001950) is a handwritten account of a meeting with the Russian ambassador that details his description of the composition, size, location and type of U.S. military forces arrayed in the Gulf and Jordan. The document includes the exact numbers of tanks, armored vehicles, different types of aircraft, missiles, helicopters, aircraft carriers, and other forces, and also includes their exact locations. The ambassador also described the positions of two Special Forces units.

Editor's Note: The Russian ambassador in March 2003 was Vladimir Teterenko. Teterenko appears in documents released by the Volker Commission, which investigated the Oil for Food scandal, as receiving allocations of 3 million barrels of oil — worth roughly $1.5 million. )

No. A bunch of countries will become embarrassed enough to straighten things out now. All the intelligence services in all these countries were spoofed by Saddam's use of the UN. Russia and the U.S. or China are not natural enemies. We will see how screwed-up and lazy intelligence services in all countries involved were for many years. I would hope Bush fires all CIA that are there longer than 13 years.

Wonder, could the legislative attempt to clamp down upon Internet 'bloggers' have anything to do with what is about to be discovered in these documents? Some preemptive wall building in the works?

One example is "Bush stole the election". There hasn't been even one recount that showed Gore won,.....not ONE! How can they keep repeating "Bush lost" if he never had a recount that showed he did?

Minor nit, but statement is only ALMOST completely true. The devil is in the possible criteria used in the recounts. The newspapers all concluded that Bush would have won in all the likely recount scenarios (notwithstanding the Dems ability to steal or alter ballots while the recount ensued).

However, the irony can be found in how the results might have changed, had local standards for counting been overridden by the desires of the respective campaigns. If Gore's recount standards had prevailed, Bush's lead would have tripled - and if the Republican recount standard had been used to continue a full recount, Gore might have won by a scant three votes.

Strange, I'm trying to figure out how an ambassador of a country against the war, and not in our coalition of the willing would have access to our war plan.
