SELMER, Tenn. Police searched Thursday for the missing wife and three young children of a church minister who was found shot to death in his parsonage.

Sounds to me like there might be some suspicion about the wife.
I called my dad (who is a minister) and told him about this story and told him this could have been him. He laughed and said my mother wouldn't have had to shoot him to run off with us kids.
I'm not sure she's the one that shot him though. At least I hope not. We knew the young man's grandfather. He was one of my teacher's in college.:(
I wonder how this will end.
Sorry to hear that, I meant no disrespect.
I'm sorry. I did a search and didn't see this had been posted.
No, I know. I had been hearing the news but didn't connect the family with my teacher. My mom called and told us. The minister's cousin goes to church with me. They have had a terrible year and now this.
"Sounds to me like there might be some suspicion about the wife."
Bingo, Go directly to the head of the class.
Years ago in Spring Grove, York County, PA., a minister was found murdered, in a very brutel manner, in his home.
His wife and family were away on a trip. Since nothing appeared to be missing, robbery was ruled out.
I told a friend, "You watch, it will turn out this was a rage killing by an ex lover or something.
My friend responded,"You watch too much TV".
A few days later they cought a drifter who confessed to the murder. He said he became outraged when the minister, who had picked him up and driven him home, asked if he could take photo's of the guy...in the nude.
I doubt the wife did it. It is more likely the family befriended some transient thug that repaid their kindness with evil.
Sometimes I see a story on another website and search different words and finally find it posted a different way here on FR.
Now if you "really" want to see multiple articles posted search using "conservative baby" and that will give you 5 different threads ;O).
I don't know obviously, I'm just going by the impressions of the Mark Klaas interview. Apparently the wife isn't officialy part of the amber alert and he said that seems to indicate something more to the story.
LOL...This is my first time to ever post something. I'm content to just read everyone else's threads. But since I couldn't find it in search I thought I would post since it's an amber alert for the family. The little ones are probably scared.
LOL!!!
Wow, this was closer to home than I thought...my dad is a church of Christ minister too.
I told my wife when we first married that if she ever wanted to leave, she had the car keys and the check book.
She said that if she ever left, I had to take care of the kids.
It has been 43 years, and we have 22 grandchildren.
I'm glad you posted it on the Tennessee board. I have been wishing all day that it was in Breaking News or Tennessee News. I know people who go to church with Matthew's father and brother. They are all terribly upset. The girls are so cute that I'm scared they have been abducted to sell on the black market. It's weird that nobody has spotted the van now that the Amber Alert has been out all day. I think the weather radio woke me up when the Amber Alert was issued last night.
My husband is a church of christ minister as well. We go to church with some of this minister's family. Really sad. The family I have met are really kind and generous.
Yes I hope they find them soon. The picture of them is adorable. This family will be in our prayers.
