TOPEKA (AP) - Kansans will be able to carry concealed guns after the House on Thursday overrode Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' veto of a gun bill, allowing it to become law this summer.
The vote was 91-33, giving supporters of the measure seven votes more than the two-thirds majority necessary. The Senate voted Wednesday night to override the veto, 30-10, with three votes more than needed.

It's good news -- I know a lot of long, hard work went into this over many years.
(c) A valid license, issued by any other state or the District of Colum-
bia, to carry concealed weapons shall be recognized according to the
terms of such license as valid in this state, but only while the holder is
not a resident of Kansas, if the attorney general determines that standards
for issuance of such license or permit by such state or district
are equal to or greater than the standards imposed by this act. The
attorney general shall maintain and publish a list of such states and
district which the attorney general determines have standards
equal to or greater than the standards imposed by this act.
The provisions of this subsection shall take effect and be in force from
and after January 1, 2007.

Congrats! now you need to pass "stand your ground" legislation and vote your gov out on her hoplophobic ass.
Hopefully voters in Kansas will dump her just like Texans dumped Ann Richards for vetoing CHL here. She lost the election to a fellow named Bush who signed concealed carry into law.

so how would that work for residents of alaska or vermont, that don't require permits?
Alaska still issues permits (just doesn't require them).
She should have cut a deal on the gambling. Now she is going to welp a cow before she gets that passed.
