Whew! That was close. Afghan officials now say that Abdul Rahman appears mentally unstable - how convenient they just spotted this! - and thus may not have to be executed for converting from Islam to Christianity. So the good news, if Rahman does escape the executioner's grasp, is that freedom of religion is now available to anyone in Afghanistan who is slightly crazy. Maybe someday the remaining 95 percent of that nation's people will get their full rights, too.

freedom of religion is now available to anyone in Afghanistan who is slightly crazy

Luckily, Afghanistan and the surrounding countries are not known for having a lack of crazy people.
