AMSTERDAM — Police are to begin a new search for missing US teenager Natalee Holloway on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba.
Deputy police chief Gerald Dompig told CBS in an interview to be broadcast at the weekend that a new witness has come forward with credible information about where Holloway's body is buried.
Dompig told CBS the information is "too specific to just be a story that was just made up by someone". It has prompted investigators to organise a search in sand dunes along the northern tip of the island. Police searched this area last year but found nothing.
It is now believed that someone took steps to carefully hide Holloway's body and may have buried her twice, the deputy police chief said.
The Aruban authorities declined to comment on the report of Dompig's remarks.
Holloway, 18, disappeared last May on the last day of a holiday with friends from Alabama to celebrate their graduation from school.
Dutch teenager Joran van der Sloot was the main suspect in the case as he was believed to be the last person seen with Holloway. He was eventually released without charge. Holloway's parents have launched a civil action in New York against the 18-year-old youth and his parents.

The Aruban police have proven themselves to be more incompetent than the LA cops who investigated the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. As near as I can tell, the Aruban cops think the Holloway case is only a purse snatching - I don't think they have caught on that a human being was slaughtered on their shores.
They may have a credible witness, but I have doubts that they could find her body with GPS coordinates. And, even if they should accidentally stumble over her corpse, they have bungled this case so badly that all of their primary suspects are out of reach and will likely never be brought to trial for her murder.
There's incompetence - and then there's Aruban incompetence. Aruban incompetence is what makes Bill Clinton look like the greatest president ever in the eyes of some.

Even though I am sick of hearing about this story I want this case solved! So I don't mind Greta, Grace and Cosby covering this story to death if it helps them catch the killer/killers. I will just switch channels when the story is on.
Applying liberal style WMD "logic", there have been multiple searches of this island for Ms. Holloway, she has not been found. Nothing of hers was found. Therefore, there never was a Natalee Holloway on the island of Aruba.
You can't make up these names.
