>>Christian Aid Workers Freed In Iraq

(Baghdad) -- Three Christian aid workers kidnapped in Iraq have been freed following what's being described as "a planned operation mounted by the Multinational Forces in Iraq." The British Embassy has confirmed that Briton Norman Kember and two Canadian nationals -- Harmeet Sooden and Jim Loney are being evaluated by doctors and are currently in the care of consular staff. The three men were taken hostage along with a fourth member of the Christian Peacemaker Teams in late November. The body of Tom Fox, a native of Virginia, was recovered earlier this month in Baghdad.

By the way, I read in another story the intel they got for this operation came from someone captured just 3 hours earlier. But then later in the same article they quoted Blair that it had been months in planning.

I think this may be the case, after the other guy was found dead. they(british govt. or our govt.) won't admit it if it was a ranson deal.

He told them where the hostages were after the money was wired? just a patsy for the cause?

Thats just CNN being ghey.

They are trying to blur the line between an 'active' word like "rescued" which would be a kind of 'success' for us, with a more 'passive' one like "freed" which would be more outside our action/control.

A million shades of grey are where the MSM have decided to fight these days. (if you can't take him down, slowly chip away)

"We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq. The occupation must end."

This is the only part of their press release that mentions the Coalition forces that rescued them.

My initial belief that this was staged still stands.

I'm starting to wonder that myself.

Article Headline: British Iraq hostage Kember freed

A US Army spokesman said the three men had been found tied up in a house in western Baghdad.

The rescue had followed intelligence obtained from a detainee, the spokesman said.

The foreign secretary said no shots had been fired during the operation, which followed "weeks and weeks of very careful work by military and coalition personnel in Iraq and many civilians as well".

Defence Secretary John Reid said the rescue operation had been "spearheaded by British troops" and involved a number of nations in the multi-national coalition.

I'm sure they were released by singing kumbayas, having dialog with their captors and the intervention of Jimmy Carter's Bible Study Class. No, the military had nothing to do with it. Of course the torture and murder of the other captive was a result of George Bush's illegal war and rampant militarism. </sarcasm

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's a ransom case, why didn't they stake out the place and wait for the bad guys? Something doesn't seem right.

The MSM is claiming the raid was based on tips from captured "insurgents". Chrissy last night claimed that all the violence is due to "insurgents". If "insurgents" know about the kidnappings and murders of innocent people then that negates the term "insurgents" and makes them TERRORIST!
