John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts to find even one thread, one post, one paragraph, one sentence or even one lousy word posted to this web site that is not fully protected by the First Amendment!
And I will extend that to one chapter, one group, one poster or any group of posters on this forum. Name one assembly, petition, letter, protest, meeting or rally convened, filed, submitted, attended or supported by members of this forum that is not 100% protected and guaranteed as free speech or free assembly by the First Amendment!
Your McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation is a treasonous act. You and your cohorts are attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America, the very same constitution that you swore an oath to defend, so help you God! That makes you a domestic enemy of that great document and a traitor to your country. Yes, and Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he turned traitor too.
How dare you even think that you are qualified to sit in the oval office! Ronald Reagan's office! President? Hah! You miserable excuse for a two-bit political hack, you're not even qualified to shine Ronald Reagan's boots. If you do run, I'm afraid you're gonna be at least one vote short. It'll be a cold day in hell before a traitor like you ever receives my vote. And that's a campaign promise you can take to the bank.
You can take your fascist campaign finance laws and the jackbooted FEC anti-free-speech enforcers you are empowering and put them where the sun don't shine. And if this post is in violation of your unconstitutional law, shove it too!

Its like Lynn Cheney and Ann Coulter said as they chose - their first choice is out of the race and they chose the best fit from what was avaialable.
I despise McCain-Feingold. There are things I can’t stand about Romney’s positions too.
But, just for myself, I’m gonna vote based on the things the President can get done - McCain can’t do amnesty unless congress cooperates.
So I reluctantly think McCain is the best remaining Republican choice. But I’m not gonna defend him when people say he’s an SOB on campaign finance and immigration.
He’ll do the right thing on defense, taxes and spending if anybody can.
Jim, what now? Will this still be the great conservative site we all know and love, or should we go to the center to stop the Democrats?
Funny timing but that movie “Network” was on tonight with William Holden and Peter Finch getting everyone to shout out their window, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!!!”. Have you forgotten or you did not know??? Jon Kyl conspired with Kennedy to shove Amnesty for Illegals down our friggin' throats! I used to respect Kyl before he turned RINO with that move.

I’m slogging through this... up to post 1000 or so.
I am positively impressed with how many people who commented here against McCain two years ago, who maintain that position today even though he is the GOP nominee. It is not often that you find so many people with integrity assembled together.
There are quite a few. I certainly won’t vote for him, a decision I made in 2000. What is amazing to me is how many say they will vote for him now. As recently as January there were no more than five or six FReepers who would promote him on McCain threads. His candidacy is certainly separating the wheat from the chaff.
My original post was made two years ago, prior to Kyl's immigration sell-out.
Fortunately, it looks like there’s a lot more wheat than chaff.
