Oh, you are in the same shape I was yesterday. I will try to take good notes.
Right now, the President is talking about the military and appreciating them, regardless of how you feel about the war. Commending West Virginia on the number of servicepeople they have contributed.

The enemy, a group of killers, struck us on Sept. 11. I knew that the farther we got from that date there would be more who would forget the lessons of that day. One of my jobs is to remind people of those lessons. The first lesson is that oceans can't protect us. Points out that when he was growing up no one worried about wars overseas.
We have to take their declaration of war seriously. My most important responsibility is to protect the nation and I haven't forgotten that.

Second lesson is to marshal all the forces of the US and keep the pressure on and never relent. Therre are some unbelievable brave troops and intelligence officers on the job 24/7 keeping them on the run. The enemy isn't a nation state, and they need safe haven. They need places to plan and plot. Found that in Afghanistan, which supported their point of view.
Description of the Taliban now.
