U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris continued her attempt to take her campaign to national television and to add religious overtones to her quest for a U.S. Senate seat with an appearance on ABC News "Nightline" Tuesday.
Harris told John Donvan, of "Nightline," that she intends to sell all her personal assets to fund the race. "My husband has real estate, but I will not own anything."
Since making a pledge last week to put $10 million of her money into the race, Harris has made the phrase "putting everything on the line" a new campaign theme.
"I am willing to take this widow's mite, this pearl of great price, and put everything on the line," she told Donvan. "No matter how much you have, are you willing to take what you have and sell it all for a great price?"
Donvan did not ask her about her links to defense contractor Mitchell Wade, who recently pleaded guilty to bribing a California congressman.
Donvan told the Tribune there was no agreement to avoid any subject in the interview.
Since revelations about those links appeared in court documents three weeks ago, Harris has avoided interviews with Florida reporters and answered few substantive questions about the issue.
Instead, she has chosen nonconfrontational venues for speaking to the public.

But he really, REALLY wants Pubbies to win! ;-)
And one of these times he'll be correct, and he'll be a big hit until the next election.
And now I ask you , who would run in here place ? This is getting really ridiculous .
Good call , you nailed them with this one . You've confirmed my suspicions , now get ready for them to call you "hysterical" .
Report in Sarasota paper says:
Republicans perfer Rep. Harris for the nomination by 37%
General Tommy Franks 30%
Foley, Pierce & Bense each get 6%
Steeler heir Thomas Rooney is at 1% which probably why he announced today that he wasn't challenging Harris.
Next you will be telling us that GWB won Flori-DUH!
Ohhh, left foot, right foot.. - gotta go K Mart.
But the best most of us can offer is risking our (still invulnerable) teen aged lives in a war...
Believe it or not; hanging out your savings when you are past 35 (45?) is way more of a commitment.
So maybe we should cut some slack here!/?
And, yes, she does look really good on a horse.
Spent all day yesterday on Capitol Hill. Stopped by Katherine Harris' and Mel Martinez' offices, and sat in both the House and Senate chamber galleries. Saw every member of the U.S. Senate (except Byrd) show up for a vote...including Her Heinous, wearing Ol' Crusty per usual.
Just down the hall from Martinez' office...was this very funny sight:
Did I ping you to this one?
Governor Bush.
Why would he want that job ? It's lame for a man of Jeb's stature .
You must be Mrs. Harris's uncle/aunt.
Have a great day.
That statement makes absolutely no sense .
Have a great day ....
Thanks.
You're very welcome .
question:
Did she say anything about immigration and the pending amnesty bill?
Did she say anything about the FMA?
Did she say anything about Nelson being a Reid Democrat?
She better be standing FOR something rather than just going through the motions. Otherwise she will come across as just another female RINO republican.
She can say whatever she wants , it will barely register as a blip on the MSM controlled radar . Her campaign will heat up when the NRA gives it's official endorsement and she starts running ads detailing Numbskull Nelson's extreme record .
