I havent been more excited for a canidate in years. This guys a real conservative and unlike Saxton hes proud for what he stands for. Lets hope Republicans give him a chance against Teddy K because if they do Teddy should just throw the towel in. Because once Oregonians here him its over for sleepy ted.

"And I'm the only candidate for governor in either party who is neither a lawyer nor someone who would have difficulty going back to a life outside of running for and serving in office," Atkinson told me. He contrasted his background in his family's radio business with that of liberal Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski, whose stints in the state legislature, the state Supreme Court, and the governorship give him the unique distinction of having served in all three branches of state government.

What would Atkinson be able to go back to if his family did not have a radio business?

Saxton would ruin the Republican Party in Oregon in perpetuity if he became Governor; plus, he has zero charisma and wouldn't beat Kulongoski in the general election. Mannix would be an excellent governor, but because of 2002, the GOP electorate will not be all that inspired by his candidacy. Jason can inspire Oregonians and retired Ted!

This is a wonderful article!
I, too, am very excited about this candidate.

Thank you, both, for the post and the ping!
