Active Surgeon and Animal Rights Activist Publicly Advocates Killing Research Scientists

Dr. Jerry Vlasak is a trauma surgeon who is certified by The American Board of Surgery and is also listed as a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Vlasak is also an outspoken animal rights activist who has, in an interview published this month, repeated his view that killing animal researchers is an acceptable way to stop animal experiments.

In the March 2006 issue of Abolitionist-Online, Vlasak is quoted as saying "Killing an animal abuser, who is not an innocent bystander, is morally defensible, and if they had the power to do so, animals would do it."

Vlasak compares killing of animal researchers to stop animal experimentation to "the killing of Nazi concentration camp guards and officers to free the prisoners being taken to the gas chambers."  He suggests that such actions, "most likely would have made the next crop of soldiers less likely to volunteer for duty."

"So yes, I think the threat of violence would save lives, innocent lives. I'm sorry to say its true," says Vlasak.

He proposes, researchers should be allowed to cease and desist peacefully prior to being violently forced. "All animal abusers should be politely asked to stop killing animals in their work and explain to them the scientific fraud in animal experimentation, as I was. If they refuse, they should be told to stop immediately, or suffer the consequences. If they still refuse, then they should be stopped by whatever means necessary. I would hope they would stop the torture and killing when asked, but I suspect some would not."

LifeSiteNews.com contacted The American Board of Surgery (ABS) which certified Vlasak.  Communications Director Christine Schiffer, acknowledged that Vlasak was indeed currently certified, which according to Schiffer indicated that he is an active surgeon.  When LifeSiteNews.com inquired whether Vlasak's comments would result in his certification being revoked Schiffer explained that the state medical board takes up disciplinary issues and that ABS would cooperate with the state medical board in such matters.

Calls to the California State Medical Board were not returned by press time.

He is no different than a terrorist and should be treated as one.

My thoughts also. I would hope that reasonable people would have no problem denouncing both.

OMG, I'd like to see how this guy changes his "mantra" if he or a loved one were diagnosed with some deadly disease. I'll wager to bet that he'd be down on his knees begging for some research treatment in order to give himself or them a fighting chance. Any human who places animal life on the same level as human...well he deserves his just desserts. Dr, here's hoping YOU never have to face a life threatening disease!....J/K

Can we kill animal rights terrorists and their ideologues, too?

Animal rights activists like this guy should be tried and sentenced as traitors to their species. If he wants to defend animals at the expense of humans then he should have to face the consequences.

"Liberals" are lunatics, by nature.

I love animals and dearly wish it weren't necessary to use them for testing.

But apparently it is, this is not a perfect world and I have had to learn to deal with that by looking at the big picture of the greater good for humanity....not go running around murdering people.

I'm sure he would frown on kneeling in prayer in the entrance to an abortion clinic too.
