A Rio Grande City rancher is accused of holding several immigrants at gunpoint because they crossed onto his property.
Rio Grande City police say last Thursday the department received an anonymous call that several illegal immigrants were being held at gunpoint in a general area behind the COD Auto Parts.
When officers arrived they discovered the immigrants had already left. Later that day officers interviewed a man, woman and two children.
The Mexican nationals identified the accused gunman, 45-year old Felix Ricardo Salinas, of pointing a gun at them and demanded money because they were crossing his ranch along Rio Grande.
Because they didn't have any money, police say the suspect escorted them back to his pickup where he planned to hold them until they were able to contact family members to get money.
While heading to the truck, the immigrants took off running and were later met by police trying to escape from the suspect.
Salinas was charged with two counts of criminal attempted aggravated robbery.
According to police, Salinas denied asking for money or holding the immigrants at gunpoint and that Salinas said he just wanted them to leave property.
Salinas was taken to the Starr County jail pending arraignment.
Letsw see, illegal aliens crosing the border carrying tons of money (after probably passing by Mexican Authorities)...yeah that's the ticket....
Ditto. I'm inclined to him the benefit of the doubt, not the illegals.
So, you're telling me a person who demands money from illegals(if that is what really happened) to let them pass is not a traitor? I think someone who sells our security is a piece of shit traitor. That is my issue with this dude. I hope he is innocent, because if he did what they claim, he is a traitor.
This articles has more questions than answers. Interesting though, that Morales is also hispanic. Could be from the last amnesty. Could be that culture of bribery doesn't disappear in a generation or two. So often we read of illegal aliens being exploited by their American "kin". Could be he's just fed up with having his property destroyed at his expense. Maybe he's a true entrepreneur. Maybe everyone with property on the border should put up a toll booth. Capitalism!!
The inmates are running the insane asylum.
Frustrated ranchers take over border security

so he stood up for defending his property & family, confronted the invaders of his land and HE'S THE ONE IN TROUBLE??? WTF??!!!!
That's great. I have no problem with it. I actually applaud their effort. If any of them are doing catch and release for money or smuggling, they should be shot. I would have no problem defending my border or my property line.
The illegals say Salinas demanded money, but he says he didn't. Salinas says he just ordered them off his property. Now who are we going to believe, the illegals or an American citizen?
Waving raised hand.... Oh pick me, I know I know!
Thanks! But Primechoice is the author! :-)
Yep. Just as soon as the SPLC hears about it.
I will too until they prove he demanded money.

This story should have never hit the papers.
S.S.S.
The title says "Rancher charged with holding immigrants at gunpoint".
THey weren't immigrants. They were illegal aliens.
If the US government would do their job, the rancher probably wouldn't have had to hold b@stards at gunpoint.
Pin a medal on his chest and "SHOOT THE ILLEGALS"
I'm sure that someone originally intended for this statement to make sense...
