he was never a serious candidate for one, he did it because he is a publicity hound...and it would be nice if he werent a carpetbagger...Illinoisians are smarter than New Yorkers

Did you ask for a provisional ballot, or whatever it's called? They HAVE to give you one.

Keyes is a good man. I voted for him in the 2000 Primary for President, and in 2004 for U.S. Senate.
But the truth is, he's a bad candidate. Being candid can be helpful, but in his case he lacks discretion. It doesn't bode well in liberal states like MD and IL.
I love Alan Keyes, and want to see him make a difference. I think he could do well for himself by becoming a grassroots PAC kind of guy.
He deserves our respect for coming in to try and help rebuild the Conservative base here. But he should not run again for a major office.

By the way, they just announced low voter turnout statewide.
Some downstate areas at "record lows?"

Sadly, I wonder the same thing!

Is it the people here in Illinois, or is it the local media, who slavishly lap up every DNC talking point and laugh off every Democratic scandal?
Or is it the RINOs here in Illinois, who still run the party, but have no idea why they're republican?
OMG, I'm starting to sound like a DUmmie!

I have family here, but I really can't afford to live here much longer..

It is all three espcially in the Chicago area. It seems that the media trumpets every GOP scandal, but quiet on the Rat scandals.

They do trumpet the Daley scandals.
But that's only because they know he can never lose.

The Ill. GOP suffer from two things, disorganization primarily, and no underlying ideology or direction secondarily.
The Ill. GOP seems to imagine that they should have power just because they merely exist or just because they claim NOT to be Democrats -- and I'm not sure which is worse?
