Racial slurs, nickels, rocks, bottles and gunshots were exchanged Sunday night among three white men, three white juveniles and two cars full of alleged gang members.
The gunshots that rang out around 9:20 p.m. on 25th Street West allegedly were fired at a group of white men in retaliation for their alleged volleying of bottles and racial slurs at three black juveniles.
While driving by the three black teenagers, three white men in a white Toyota Scion allegedly yelled racial epithets at them.
The vehicle stopped at a nearby service station, and one of the white passengers threw a nickel at one of the black teenagers, according to a statement from the Lancaster Sheriff's Station.
The teenagers allegedly responded by throwing rocks at the Scion and leaving the gas station.
The white male adults again drove by the black juveniles, allegedly hurling epithets, as well as rocks and bottles. One of the black juveniles was hit in the head and required hospital treatment. The mother of one of the three minors allegedly called in reinforcements.
"Several suspected black gang members were contacted by one of the mothers of the juveniles," the statement from the Lancaster Sheriff's Station read.
The reputed gang members, who were in two vehicles, allegedly found the white Scion and cornered it around 25th Street West and Avenue J.
At least one of the suspected black gang members, who was riding in a white Cadillac, pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the Scion, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Deputies recovered the Cadillac later in the evening and found a handgun stashed in the vehicle.
According to the 2004 Hate Crime Report, released in December by the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations, reported crimes countywide dropped for the third year in a row.

Classy.
Yeah, I caught that also.
Life in the big city. Call your gang banger friends, not the police.
Lancaster used to be a hick town. When did South Central move to the Antelope Valley?
They should all be arrested and prosecuted. Bet they're all losers. Successful people of all races are busy working and raising families, not driving around looking for a fight. I have no sympathy for any of them.
Agreed!
White men in a Toyota Scion? That's almost hard to believe. They seem very popular with Latinos in Southern California but it would suit this story to slip and call the men white whether they are caucasians or Latinos.
Yup. I love how this started because a NICKEL was thrown. What happened to the old line, "No applause; just throw money?"
Hey, I'm a 41-year-old white computer-geek dude who drives an xB! It's cool, in an ugly, bulldog sort of way.
Any "whites" foolish enough to cruise around the "hood" looking for trouble deserve whatever the gangbangers throw at them.
Park 'em all in the same holding cell, then charge the survivors with the resulting murder and mayhem.
momentary lapse in automotive taste ?
It was the cheapest, well-build car (built by Toyota) I could find, and came with all sorts of STD equipment. I'm way past the age of caring what a car looks like, and my 8 & 9 year olds just love "the baby school bus"!
but, but, but, but, but, you don't fit the target demographic !
Way to go adults...
Pretty sad when the supposed adults are racism scum, what did the kids do to deserve this, did I miss something?

South Central moved to Antelope Valley when the wave of illegal immigrants took over South Central.
2. The only true "caucasians" are Armenians and Georgians.
