Sad is not the word.... I was thinking more on the lines of "tragic", especially with ten billion dollars of our hard-earned tax money about to pass into the sticky hands of the politicians of one of the most corrupt states in America.

Worried about looting? You ain't seen nothing yet! Wait till they get their grimy little mitts on that!!!
New Orleans has a Democrat Chocolate Mayor, a Democrat City Council, and a Democrat Chief of Police. Louisiana has a Democrat Governor, a Democrat Lt.Governor, a Democrat Attorney General; 24 of 39 Louisiana State Senators are Democrat, 67 of 105 Louisiana State House Representatives are Democrat, there's a Democrat Representative in the House from New Orleans, and one of two U. S. Senators is a Democrat.
SO NOW YOU CAN SEE WHY IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT!!!

I was still living in New Orleans the first time Edwards ran against Treen. The year was 1969 as I recall.

There was a "debate" on a local New Orleans channel.

A reporter asked Edwards if he was a crook. He said, "Of course, I'm a crook and I admit it. The problem is that my opponent is also a crook but he won't admit it."

He got elected.
