No. In the markets. But they have been wrong before....many times.
To: Cage Rattler
I thought they were past rumors and now asking the President to fire his entire staff and cabinet ?

Littley Davey Gregory will probably accuse the WH of holding the PC because he (Gregroy) couldn't be there.
Then, the rest of the MSM will say the same thing.

I thought David Gregory was filling in on the Today show. If so, then maybe he won't be there. Good timing for the WH. :-) Maybe he was too wrapped up in being snide and nasty to Laura Ingraham today to be snide and nasty to the President?
I have violent fantasies about slapping that sneer off his face so hard his head spins around on his neck.

It's to announce the "Fred Barnes shuffle". Rumsfeld resigns, Cheney resigns but is nominated for Sec. of Def., Condi Rice is put forward for Senate confirmation as the new VP and Joe Lieberman is named Sec. of State. BWAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAA

Futures markets are down right now. If there was any truth to the rumor of a Bin Laden/Zarqawi capture the futures would be off the board green.
Traders always seem to know first.

Doubt it on Rummy, Bush will back off on the Nazi reference even though it is one of the few 100 percent correct comment but we just cannot seem to make moral decisions any longer.

Yes, who will be the first to ask, "When are you going to fire Andy Card?" ;o)
I think this is brilliant, as we get to have the WH press reporters questions contrasted with the questions from yesterday, "a regular audience" forum.
To: Cage Rattler
I was going to post the same thing, but I was just basing it on wishful speculation. If that's the case, it would be great if they were able to do a split screen with some top dems. Watching their faces during that announcement would be too funny!

NRO's "The Corner" was reporting the Rumsfeld resignation rumor yesterday.
RUMSFELD IS RESIGNING? [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
At least one specialty newsroom in the D.C. area is buzzing right now....
File it under unconfirmed rumor. Maybe even wishful newsroom thinking?
UPDATE: The president is giving a lunchtime three-years-later speech in Cleveland. If anyone in the administration can help it, I can't imagine Rumsfeld resigning today.
