Yes but when Leonidas said those words to Xerxes, he and his Spartans then put up such a fight which allowed the rest of the Greeks time to mass and then put an end to Xerxes Grecian ambitions. Xerxes had to withdraw.

Molon Labe was a sarcastic response which in our day and age would be translated as ..."yeah and over our dead bodies, too!"

So is this waht you meant, this interpretation of Molon Labe...or did you mean "Molon Labe...as in yeah come and get Israel, we won't fight you on the deal!"

I meant it merely as a general term of defiance, which is why I said "very loosely translated".
