Here it comes. The federal government "harmonizes" state's food rules before "harmonizing" under various treaties with globalist institutions. Another loss of sovereignty is underway.

lets get some opinions on the "Epoch Times," while we're at it.
Left-leaning and notoriously anti-Administration, the time I glanced at it over a bagel and coffee.
Distributed by the Falun Gong, who, whether good or bad, probably oughtn't be considered "objective."

There it went, why should we have each state writing different laws re: food safety? That is definitely a interstate commerce issue and belongs to the feds.
HAVING EACH STATE GET INTO THIS WILL RAISE THE COST OF FOOD AND FOR SURE ISN`T GOING TO CUT STATE GOVERNMENT COSTS.
Even if we put the states in charge, the Feds wouldn`t go away.

I think there should be consistency regarding food safety. I also think the consumer should be allowed to know what they are eating and where it came from.
We already know the ill effects from mercury and lead.

The bill also raises serious questions about public safety and national security regarding food tampering and terrorism. Both sides argue that their position would help protect the U.S. from foreign or domestic tampering and provide the best response to terrorism.I'm beginning to start seeing buzzwords here. Every time the Fedgov wants to bite off another chunk of liberty, they are invoking the holy mantras of safety and security.
Well, dammit, life ain't safe.
Nobody gets out alive.
This is the grab that sets up the infrastructure justifications to run this: NAIS (National Animal Identification System
Read about it in the government's own words, educate yourself and note the implications for pet owners as well.
Go Here No NAIS.org when you are done and take a better peek at the dark side of this
After this they'll be 'chipping' humans, starting with sex offenders, for "safety and security", then everyone else (not this guy), so pay attention.

Folks say they want consistency. Why? If your state is not requiring proper labeling, then get active and get laws passed in your state for the people of your state. The founders would be proud of you. If its another state you are worried about...why?...they have a state government that is beholden to them, that they vote for....if they want they can change the law in their state.
There are cultural differences between states. Here in Arkansas we let kids hunt. In some northeastern states they gasp and cry out when they hear that. It sounds totally insane to them because they do not understand the culture. We do not wish to be "harmonized" with them.
Likewise, it is none of my business if Nevada wants to have legal prostitution. I don't live there. I don't pay taxes there. I do not have to raise my kids there. Its none of my business what they want to do. But at the same time....I do not want to be "harmonized" with them.
When the FDA starts instituting the "no bacon" rule at the behest of the food nazis....I do not want to be harmonized at that point.
Abortion laws are fairly strict here in my state. I do not really want to be "harmonized" from Washington.
If its about National Defense....harmonize us. If its about patents....harmonize us. If its about transit on the national waterways....harmonize us. But determining what we can and cannot eat? I don't think so.

This is an outgrowth of the WTO. You'll note it isn't being billed that way - on purpose.
