She has yet to declare that she will run, but in the race for the White House in 2008, Hillary Clinton is already gazing down at her nearest challengers from the peak of a mountain of money.
The former First Lady and senator for New York has so far raised more than any other potential Democratic presidential candidate, with a war chest stuffed with almost $20 million (£11.4 million).
Her fund-raising skills seem certain to guarantee that Mrs Clinton will have at least $100 million in the bank by the end of next year.
That figure is crucial, with the head of the Federal Election Commission, Michael Toner, saying that the sum was the minimum "entry fee" for any serious election campaign. Officially, Mrs Clinton has her eyes on just one election, the defence of her senate seat in New York State this autumn. But few doubt she will attempt to become the second Clinton to capture the White House when President Bush steps down in two years' time.

I think the elites and MSM want the beast but can live with McCain.
I disagree.
Look how close John Kerry came to winning -- just a few thousand votes in Ohio. The Republicans don't have a really well-known candidate who hasn't been through one or more messy divorces, had cancer or can unite the party. I like George Allen or Mitt Romney, but I'm afraid they might be Lazio-like in a national election, totally lacking the star-power of Hillary. I think Romney's being a Mormon will be a major drawback also. What other Republicans are there? Frist is too dull and I really believe that Condi means what she says about not being interested. Besides all the money Hillary will have, she will have the major media doing everything in their power to elect her. Condi would be the only one who might get some major media on her side. John McCain has no idea what they will do to him if he is the nominee. It won't be nice. Hillary winning is not a done deal, obviously, but dismissing her is foolish.
Never happen. More and more folks are realizing -that it is sadly very true- that Bill and Hillary (and the DNC) sold us out to Communist China and all of our nuclear secrets are gone (with emphasis on all).

The Clinton National Security Scandal and Coverup
Senator James Inhofe
(right column/top)
Versus 99% of the print/TV/film media paid for with potentially billions in foreign money. Consider that there may be millions of new Democrat voters - depending on how the impending illegal alien amnesty is structured. I am a conservative Republican and see only a little difference between the parties at this point. The Republican campaign slogan will be "Not as bad as Hillary" - It can't honestly be border security, fiscal responsibility, and smaller government - as all have been written out of the party platform.
(with emphasis on all).
The odds favor the favorite, but you're right.
When an underdog carries the day, seems to me it's always for the right reasons. Where's our David? We've a Goliath begging to be smote!
When it comes to the Clintons, look at money, not power alone. There is no use in having power if you can't cash in on it. Hillary's fundraising is very predictable. Where does that money go? answer: to her friends. How much of it finds its way back to her? answer: Who knows?
If she gets the nomination, look for the denominations to come flying in. If she wins, look for the legal fees to mount up...and for her to ask for money to pay her lawyer friends.
No, she's probably raised much more then 20 million. The rest just went into her pocket.
How many folks has she had KILLED?
The beast can put four zeros after that number and still not get the nomination.
Thanks bad company. I had that e-mailed to me but deleted it before saving pic to file. This is classic.
Considering that Bush has made a mess of things and his high 30's approval rating , all Hillary has to do is win the democratic nomination because the country will elect
any democrat in 08. The GOP will lose congress in 06 too.
Bush is our Jimmy Carter.
If she backs out of the race, does she get to keep the money?
