Pretty cool, huh? He has taken The Canteen with him for a year in Iraq, and a year in Korea.....now he's with The Old Guard since February. Looking forward to seeing what he does with them. I'm holding out for announcing a ceremony from the White House.

My uncle was quite a guy. Started out as a cavalry officer, went into the paratroops, where he served most of his career and was one of the earliest of the Special Forces. Served in Vietnam too early to get a Vietnam Service Medal, but got four legitimate PH's along with other so-called higher decorations which he deprecated. He was a strong influence on my early years. Thank God this country produces men like him and tx, who I am sure will contiue to serve with distinction.
