No school is politically, culturally, or religiously neutral. Education of the young IS in its very essence the transfer of cultural knowledge, values, and morals.

So..why is the government in the business of promoting the worldview of some ( with political, cultural, and religious content and consequences) while actively undermining the worldview of others? How can this be constitutional on a state, federal, or local level?

What about the rights of the captive students in the govenrment school? What about their First Amendment Right to freedom of association? huh? Freedom of association is a First Amendment Right that government schools ( including the Peekskill schools violate every minute of every school day!

I bet that many of the captives ( and their parents) in the Peekskill indoctrination center that day would not have willing chosen to assembly together to hear little Ashante. It took the threat of government force to accomplish that.

That being said, part of her speech was correct. People SHOULD do whatever they can to keep themselves healthy, off drugs, and emotionally strong. IMHO the rest is claptrap.

Racism has unfortunately become a fully accepted mainstream ideal. Rich white males are always evil. I am watching a commercial for Washinton Mutual Bank where a black man shows us how WaMu gets their great ideas. They have a group of old white men imprisoned in the bank's basement, any suggestions the men have, WaMu does the opposite (funny right?). To keep whitey from getting upset WaMu placates them with a champagne dispenser. Now lets turn this ad around. Use Black men as the pregenitors of bad ideas and have the bank placate them with Malt Liquor (not so funny).
