It's a dead heat for Rendell, Swann

Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell and Republican challenger Lynn Swann are running neck and neck, a new independent statewide poll shows. In a hypothetical election, Rendell and Swann each would get 44 percent of the vote, with 10 percent undecided and 2 percent for others, according to the Strategic Vision poll.
"Dead even. You can't get much closer than that," said David E. Johnson, pollster for Atlanta-based Strategic Vision, a public relations and marketing firm.
This poll, similar to other recent polls, spells trouble -- according to the pollster -- for Rendell, of Philadelphia, who is seeking a second four-year term in the Nov. 7 general election.
"He's extremely vulnerable," Johnson said. "Any time any incumbent is polling below 50 percent, that's a sign of trouble."

Fast Eddie is in trouble. See, in PA they go hog wild for the Steelers. In any other year, Fast Eddie might stand a chance. Not when he's up against an NFL Hall Of Fame Champ who also happens to be a staunch pro-life conservative.

If any poll calls a Republican dead even, then they lead by at least 7 points I figure.

Yes,ain't it grand!

Let's forget his endorsement of that illegal pay raise. People are still mad about it. Its the RINOs and the Democrats who've taken the brunt for disregarding the people to further their own nests.

From what I've read he sounds conservative. Time will tell.
Question is are we better off with a RINO or a rat? My state dumped a RINO for a rat and the rat turns out to be a progressive/ Marxist.
I wish voting the Repubs out would send a message to them but they appear to be clueless and missing the boat is what they are best at.
I really wish the Constitution had term limits.

I doubt that this was a fairly weighed poll. Probably 65% - 70% Democrap. Don't look good for Eddie in a tie!

Based on his history of political contributions, per FR threads, I'm guessing RINO.

Although, his current positions (at least socially) are conservative (ie. pro-life etc.) Question for me is would he hold to them long after he wins the election?...He WILL win, IMO, speaking as a former PA resident.
