David Gregory Going Nuts at WH Briefing

Everyone's favorite rabid Bush-hater is ripping into McClellan at a WH briefing on today's action in Iraq. Gregory is all over McClellan with charges that Bush has authorized this "bloody attack" to raise his poll numbers. Helen Thomas has just chimed in to say that Bush is a war criminal in his "unauthorized attack in Iraq" (unauthorized by the UN abd MSM). That "preemptive war is unacceptable." As McClellan replies Thomas bores ahead. Quite a sight. Reporters are now challenging McClellan on the US' right to defend itself. The masks are sure off the Dinosaur Press, folks.

Agreed....someone like Amb Bolton for example.
Good example. Wonder if the president and Mr. Rove should replace McClellen with someone "known" or with someone "unknown" but who "has the chops!"
To: liberty2004
The WOT is a multi-front war. The leftist MSM is the enemy within. They are 100% committed to sabotaging this effort. The MSM is 100%s committed to destroying this President.
Agree...time to retake the helm. McClellen's position is not a throw-a-way position. It is critical to have someone in that position who can look the press in the eye and hold them accountable, responsible and professional.

They should have their credentials pulled.
Pull all of their credentials immediately and have each one reapply. Tell them well in advance, like now, that this will be done but don't tell them when.
Give each of them time for a little professional introspection. The innocent will have no problems; the guilty will howl like banshees. Too bad.
Make them work for the privilege of holding WH press credentials! Honest, straightforward and "hard" questions are a-okay. Juvenile behaviour from the press is an insult to the office of the presidency and an insult to our intelligence. It is a waste of our time.
If the press room can't be run professionally, shut the circus down and then the "press" will have to get their info the old-fashioned way.

My vote for press secretary is General Honore'. Put him in there with that rabid bunch and watch the fur fly.

ping me to when the replay is on It's now on the White House's main page.

And the President allows this...why?
That's the $64,000 question, isn't it? It makes no sense and the press' behaviour is like watching a bunch of surly 2 year olds "acting out."
It is way beyond being merely tiresome.
To: RandallFlagg
I agree. The President needs someone with a tougher demeanor--someone like Joe Lockhart.
As obnoxious as Joe Lockhart was--he was very much more effective as Slick's Press Secretary (aka Slick's mouthpiece and public defender)--as he was much more 'in your face' than the meek Scott. Lockhart intimidated most of the press--of course, with the MSM's democratic sympathies, it wasn't all that hard anyway. But the point remains, Lockhart didn't take any **it.

David Gregory...a red-meat gift!

OMG!! Helen does not disappoint!!
Q Does the President know that he's in violation of international law when he advocates preemptive war? The U.N. Charter, Geneva, Nuremberg. We violate international law when we advocate attacking a country that did not attack us.
To: cripplecreek
When they break the rules, he ought to dismiss them after lecturing them on the professional ethics of journalism versus propaganda. Whenever they act like Democrats he should remind them that they lost the election and should really work for the DNC rather than pretending to be journalists. Then he ought to suspend the White House press credentials of repeat offenders. He should have gotten rid of Gregory after his last melt down when the public was against him and he had to appologize. Missed opportunity... The Bushies are "above" politics.

Scott does get a bit of a quip in with David.
Q Scott, just one more. There's been a lot of rumor, as you know, so let me ask you the question straight. Does the President think he needs new blood on his staff, given his political standing?
MR. McCLELLAN: I went through this yesterday; I don't think anything has changed in terms of what I said yesterday.
Q I'm sorry, I wasn't here yesterday. Do you mind just filling me in?
MR. McCLELLAN: Look back at the transcripts.

My vote for press secretary is General Honore'.
I'll second that!
To: World'sGoneInsane
Certainly they can..there is no "right to be at a press briefing. I would kick out Gregory and tell NBC that none of their representatives would be welcome until...ah give 'em a couple of months to think about it. Then when the are allowed back make sure it's not Gregory. He'll definitely hear about this one from management.

Pull all of their credentials, issue them a pamphlet on professional ethics and how the press briefings will be held in the future, let them reapply for credentials and ask them to sign the last page in their pamphlet...the one that asks if they agree to uphold the ethics of their profession and to behave in a professional manner when in the press room.
Keep their signatures on file and toss them when/if they break the rules. Time to censure the WH press corps.

LOL...that's the ticket!

We violate international law when we advocate attacking a country that did not attack us.I think she meant to say that we "violate international law when a Republican administration advocates attacking a country that did not attack us." I don't recall Helen lecturing the Clintoon administration when he decided to bomb the crap out of Bosina and send thousands of US Troops to the region in response to allegations that Milosevic had murdered hundreds of thousands of Bosnian Muslims and buried them in mass graves. As we all know now, the mass murders never took place, and despite Clintoons promise to bring the troops home by Christmas, they are still there nearly a decade later. "Clintoon lied and people died; Clintoon lied and people died..."
