I don't post for the same reason. I survived my single newbie vanity and a whole lot of responses.

Sir, I do not have a link. Fox only has the breaking news banner on their page, I'm getting my info from Bridget on Foxnews. (I know the preference for links, I'm looking, believe me!)

SKY NEWS pdated: 15:37, Thursday March 16, 2006
The US military says it has launched its biggest air assault in Iraq since the invasion in 2003.
It says the operation involves more than 50 aircraft and 1,500 Iraqi and US troops as well as 200 tactical vehicles.
The target is suspected insurgents operating near the town of Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad.

You know what THEY are going to say, don't you? Bush is responding to the political polls and just trying to look like they are really doing something in Iraq.
To: blu
We must have intelligence from Iraqis that this is where the terrorists are operating from.

I like that theory. Somewhere in a 2 block radius with possible tunnels. Once it's over the guys with sponges and cotton swabs will go looking for him.

It appears ( from what I have heard on TV ) that a combined air/land assault by US/Iraqi forces is being conducted just south of El Salaaim (sp?) which is just north of Bagdhad..
The area in question is beleived to be an active operations area for insurgents...

FOX reporting they may be going after "high profile targets" .
I doubt they launched this big assault to go after "low profile tagets"
Let's hope it's EXTREMELY high profile. (starting with a "Z")
