50 aircraft,1500 Iraqui/ US Troops in Samra (n of baghdad) , largest air and land assult since we went in.
They are hunting someone here....they have inserted blocking forces....yes siree...a big game hunt is underway.
"So folks....how long before AP or Reuters will have a story we killed all women and children and puppies and kittens?"
You mean they don't already? I could swear I saw one this morning.
They're very close to where I am.
Can't see or hear Samarra from here. (Wish we COULD!) They'll have to get their butts up there, but I love that they missed the beginning of it.
I did hear the Battle of Falluja in November of '04 from Taji, where I was at the time. Saw some interesting things on the horizon as well, like A-10s "dropping things off.". That was all pretty cool.
LOL! Another wedding party blown to bits.
Different puppy killing.
Please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr, please let it be Mookie Sadr......
Not so much..
Establish firing points and field of fire..
Use night vision, and spot movement and targets for air support.. ( You want air support to KNOW EXACTLY where you are at, and where you're not.. less chance of "freindly fire" casualties that way..)
Maintain your perimeter...
Shut down all movement..
Why don't you get off your high horse? When the Brit Hume program starts, that is the end of the news, no matter how important. We get taped programs being shown all night.
At least CNN does have a live reporter at the station during the night hours in case of breaking news.
We have PMSNBC on here in the lounge, and yes they are deeply saddened. Bush gets a 10 point bounce from this and they know it.
Allegra....are they shooting spitballs at you??
"That was all pretty cool."
And I'd assume, scarey too.....Godspeed dear! How long are you staying this time?
Event was "Iraqi driven" based on info from Iraqi security forces..........
No Mookie...the head headchopper himself.
He had spent time in the Army and got out. But when 9/11 came, he went back in. Tank operations.
I came across his letters from Samara the other day, will keep them forever, maybe even give them to his daughter someday.
You hear a lot about how bad the young generation is -- but when you think about these young men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, you realize this country will always produce heros.
God be with them on this day and others.
Excellent.
I have only disagreed with his analysis on very rare ocassions.. and on nothing really important..
I'm with ya on your take of this op. My spidey sense too is telling me that there's something special about this plan. They got some intel with extra sauce on it, methinks.
Here's to hopin'...
LOL
True enough... But just as they used the "2nd Commando Brigade" (Iraqi?) to secure buildings pre-strike, I'm betting we have a few similar folks moving about, collecting intel.
