"We're still going to have about 100 of our Fayetteville police officers out there. And, we'll also have officers from other agencies like the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Wilmington police, Gaston County police, and other agencies like the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office will be assisting us with crowd control and making sure everyone's got a nice safe outing, said Sgt. Steve McIntosh, a member of the Fayetteville Police Department. Why do cops always crash these "peace marches"? That's a lot of cops, unless of course, peace protesters really are not peaceful at heart...

City officials said politics had nothing to do with their decision.
A city official double-agent, the Easter Bunny, confirmed this late last night.

Police officials said they plan to be out there before then making sweeps with their bomb dogs.If they made some sweeps with drug sniffing dogs, no one would show up.

If the decision wasn't a political one then why would it matter? Two hundred people is two hundred people....

Too bad the RINO's won't allow the "white flag" ad to be run again on TV
Pass this "white flag" ad around on the internet

Now is the time for all good men and women
to come to the aid of our country
and show support for our service men and women.
You do not have to be in NC to show support for the Troops.
Visit your local military base today and at least once a week.
Or a military or veteran hospital.
If you can't do that then send an e-mail or package
to our troops for morale support.
Proud Patriots -
Sending care packages,

City officials said politics had nothing to do with their decision. They said a member of Free Republic made the application for a 200-person picnic, but that person did so as a private citizen, so city officials didn't know the organization was involved. I wonder if a local person from the Fayetteville house of the Society for Creative Anachronism, for example, had applied for the park as an individual and they subsequently found out it was a Scadian event, if tehy would revoke that permit.
Any guesses?

I don't get it. Was this to be some sort of official FR Chapter event? How can they deny a permit to someone because they happen to be a member of FR? Aren't the moonbats who secured permits also members of groups?

Balony! Every decision a city official makes deals with politics in one way or another.

So they give preference to groups over private citizens no matter who was there first? And I'm sorry, but I don't buy the "expecting thousands" crap one bit. These types of groups are always overstating their expected crowds to make up for their lack of uh...uh...."manhood". It's a Freudian thing. I'm betting there is nowhere near "thousands" at this idiotic thing....unless you use Caliposo Louie's type of math.

Just saw a few posted flyers in New York City stating that tomorrow, March 17th, starting at 1PM a "Bring the troops home" rally will be in Times Square and ending up at the UN. Are freepers countering this?
