The UN exists at the pleasure of world bodies wishing to tolerate them. Nobody elected them world leader with the ability to tax anything.

Well, one world body, anyway. Without the U.S. funding it as it does now, there would be no U.N. I think it's fair to say we are already paying a "U.N. tax" and have been for some time.
