As in a soft, leather one! I think I have one that fits that description! A Christmas present from a really good friend!

Probably.

If it was Oprah she probably would have asked about her childhood trauma.

:0)

Think about it. Of all of the trillions and trillions of people who ever lived on this planet through all of the millenium, I am unique. There will never be another me!

God knows what he is doing!

"What is the origin of your screen name?"

My husband and I saw this question on FR just before dinner and I was giggling about this.

My name is Cindy.
It really is Cindy.
That is my screen name, too.
Yep.

So, I get questions/responses sent to me over the years in FR and email that look something this:
---

Dear Sir

Is your name really Cindy?

Are you a man or a woman?

Who represents you?

What organization are you with?

Is CINDY an organization?

How many people are in your group?

Is Cindy a cover name?

What does Cindy stand for?

Cindy who?

Then there are responses that I cannot print.

Anyway, I had to laugh at this thread subject
and take a moment to share.

Cindy

When I took the name I had NO IDEA that CMC stood for commandant of the Marine Corps.

Ma'am, Yes, MA'AM!

Back in the early 1970s, I was a 1LT in the Illinois Army National Guard, assigned as the executive officer of a 105mm Cannon Battery. We were up at Ft. McCoy, WI for a MUTA-5. On the way up, I heard that Saturday was to be John Wayne's birthday. That afternoon, it was hot and muggy and the crews were dragging. I was at my XO post behind the base piece and just in passing, mentioned to my Battery Recorder that the guys ought to pick up the pace in honor of "The Duke's" birthday.

Before I could stop him, he picked up the field phone and passed that on to all of the sections! They got a spark and performed superbly from then on.

Later that year at Annual Training, again at McCoy, at the Battery Party, they started calling me the "Duke" and that nickname stuck.

Since Field Artillerymen have been called "Redlegs" since the 1800s, because of the red stripe they wore on each pant leg, I put the two together and hence my screen name.
