FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006
Ms.Behavin

Posted on 03/15/2006 5:59:14 PM PST by StarCMC

What is the origin of your screen name?

Come tell us your story....

How'd ya choose your screen name?
A situation in your life?
Part of a song?
Your Military service?

For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin"
that decided it for me!
I bought a blouse that had that on the tag...
Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin..
Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"

So there ya have it!
Have fun!
Please, no politics in The Canteen..
We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!

Now tell us YOUR story!!

Time for this story again?

Back in the 1970's, I played football at the University of Oklahoma. I was All-American for only three years, but I was all-conference for five.

After finishing my athletic eligibility and completing my degrees in microbiology and philosophy, I entered the US Navy, where I flew F4 Phantom jets and taught hapkido to the Seals.

After my discharge from the Navy, I spent a year exploring my satirical side, submitting works to National Lampoon. But my work, sadly, just wasn't good enough for "The Best of National Lampoon".

So, I retured to OU and finished my PhD in Philosophy, with my Doctoral thesis titled "Pseudonyms: Computer Networking Technology and Walter Mitty Complex in the 21st Century."

The rest is destiny.

The only thing I have heard about 1952, is that the drought of the 50s was basically just beginning.

Sort of like now, but we didn't have the "global warming" theories on the front page of the papers or headline news of the "few" B&W TV sets.

56 & 57 were so dry, all the stock tanks in our county either dried up or had less than one foot of water.

A girl I used to chat with on line, wanted to see me via a web cam. So I grabbed an old ski mask, put it on, and turned on the web cam. Freaked her out.

American Made 1776 ....It just seemed appropriate, as all my ancestors were here at that time and some way before that time, and it was the time my nationality was established. I am an American!

My name is Richard and buddies have called me "The King" and "The Lion hearted".

Thought "TheLion" worked well at the time.

Nothing exciting, just the model number of my favorite handgun: Smith & Wesson 6906. Compact 9 mm with a bobbed hammer that is easy to carry yet still packs some punch (with Hydra-Shocks in it!).

Okay I am a geek and I know it...

"SynTyr"

Syn = in Norse mythology goddess of watchfulness and truth.

Tyr = is the god of single combat and heroic glory in Norse mythology.

I origninally put it TyrSyn but SynTyr flows better...

I chose it because I figured I needed a bit of variety in my screen-names (my usual s/n is "Myuu" or some variant there-of).

It means "maybe" in Japanese, and I adore the Japanese language. I'm teaching it to myself in a slow but steady fashion. (Believe you me, the particles are a pain to figure out!) Plus it sounds really awesome, lol. And in that, if nothing else, I am a typical teen xP
