Iran’s Ahmadinejad: West opposes our nukes to let Israel live on
Wed. 15 Mar 2006

Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Mar. 15 – Iran’s radical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the circumstances were ripe for the “collapse of the Zionist regime” and that the West was highlighting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in the world arena in order to “divert attention away from the issue of Palestine”.

“The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to create insecurity and confrontation in our region. If one day tranquillity came about, it would mean the death of this regime”, Ahmadinejad said in the northern town of Ramyan during a speech broadcast live on state television.

“Our enemies on the one hand oppose our nation’s acquisition of nuclear energy and on the other hand want to divert the attention of other nations from the key issue of Palestine to give an opportunity to the Zionist regime to prolong its existence”, he said.

“One of the main reasons why the big powers oppose Iran on the nuclear issue is for the sake of the Zionist regime, so as to let this regime live on. But they are unaware that not only will the Iranian nation continue in the path of obtaining nuclear energy till the end, it will not even for one instant divert its attention from the issue of Palestine”.

“The regime occupying Qods [Israel] is the key to [Western] countries’ domination in Muslim lands, and with every blow at this occupying regime, it’s the pillars of the Global Arrogance (the West) that are targeted”.

I have no doubt that if the fate of their country was on the line that the IAF would have no hesitation about launching a one way strike, wheter it be a nuclear Dolittle raid or a truly one-way trip.

a nuclear Dolittle raid

Nuclear is the only way it could be done and retain enough IAF assets to continue defending Israel.

a truly one-way trip

If using conventional weapons that would require such a large percentage of IAF's fighters that their loss would be suicide for Israel.

Disclaimer: All my posts are of course my just my opinion. If I actually knew, I'd not be talking.

I believe Israel will overfly whatever nations are necessary without anyone's permission. There are three possibilities:

Israel->Jordan->Iraq->Iran
Israel->Syria->Iraq->Iran
Israel->Saudi Arabia->Iran

Option #3 would only be used if Israel believed the U.S. would fire on Israeli aircraft overflying Iraq.

I think you underestimate Israel's air force.

Hey, thanks for the welcome. :) Israel purchases our F-15s and F-16s and they have quite an inventory of them. One possibility is that we are in Iraq now and would allow them to overfly Iraqi airspace. Isreali Aircraft Industries have developed a 600 gallon fuel tank for those things and this extensively extends the range. I believe they did this for one reason and that is to deal with Iran. I really do not believe any Arab country is going to be friendly to Israel and allow them to overfly their airspace. However, Israel will take care of themselves and defend themselves and I believe they have the ability to take out the entire region in a matter of days if they wanted to. I mean the 6 days war--it is referred to that for a reason.

Hey I pray that the US would not take an aggressive stance against Israel and would render aid and assistance. I am sure the defense ministry would inform the US if they did initiate a pre-emptive strike. I agree whole heartedly that Israel's Defense Force is not to be under estimated. The IAF pilots are amazing.

"There's no way we can allow someone like this:

To acquire nukes."

You 100% wrong. A monkey is just stupid, these people are out to do harm to the world. That makes them infinity more dangerous to the world.

Amen! The 21st Century Haman is begging to meet the same fate as his ancient predecessor. May such a fate and more be given to him.

The "Bush is LYING about Iran" Mantra is already starting...

***And Since Bush has LIED about WMD, YELLOW CAKE, AL-QAEDA TIES TO SADDAM, ABOUT SECRET PRISONS, AND ABOUT THE LEGALITY OF HIS ILLEGAL SPYING ON US CITIZENS, WHY SHOULD I TRUST THIS DOUCHEBAG TO PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION? AND, WHY WOULD I TRUST A CORRUPT CONGRESS THAT BACKS THIS PRICK TO PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION? I WILL PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION, THE BILL OF RIGHTS, AND SO WILL MY FELLOW PATRIOTS!***

The Liberal Lie offensive is ALREADY starting on Iran..
How in the hell do we combat this crap? It's clear that whatever we are doing now isn't working......

"We should run a JDAM down their stupid well just to p*** them off. >:("

If we did, it would only be a neighborly act of reciprocity.

"Unless Israel acts"

Regardless of whether Israel acts or not.
Israel is too far away and doesn't have the capacity to block Iran from getting the bomb. Only America does, and America does not have the political will to do it.

Bush goes to Congress and asks for a use of force resolution. Democrats filibuster in the Senate. No use of force.

"Iran gets some of ours — conventional, not nuclear — and not too long from now."

Don't kid yourself.
There's no will in Congress for that.

There's no will in Congress for that.

Devil take 'em.

If the President finds it necessary, as I suspect he will, Teheran is going to be startled from bed by loud bangs. Congress can bitch or praise later, depending on the polls.

The President is going to declare war and use the armed forces without Congress?

He'll get impeached.

IMHO, no one is getting impeached for airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, except in John Conyers' dreams.

We shall see.

It appears that the Islamofascist leader of Iran is begging to turn his country into a glass plain. Either that or the largest parking lot in the world.
His words reek of the pre-war rhetoric of Hitler in the 1930's.
We have to stop the UN from being the Chamberlains of the 21st. Century. There will be no peace in our time if we allow Iran to continue on the course it has chosen. They will only kill themselves if they attack Israel.And do irrepairable damge to their part of the world.

Yes.
But HOW?
That's the rub.
We have to stop them.
But we CAN'T stop them.
So we have to figure out how to deal with a nuclear-armed Iran.
The Iranians aren't bluffing, but we and the Europeans are. The Iranians know it too, and keep calling the bluff and moving ahead. Once they have the weapons, the Europeans and the Americans will storm off in a huff and issue something strongly worded to the effect of "We are VERY put out!" and then we'll have to deal with a MAD situation with Iran: they don't nuke Tel Aviv, the Israelis don't nuke Teheran. Worked against the USSR. It's all we've really got against Iran, because the will's just not there for a war.
