The Impeachment Agenda
The Opinion Journal ^ | March 15, 2006 | The Opinion Journal

Republicans are denouncing Senator Russ Feingold's proposal to "censure" President Bush for his warrantless wiretaps on al Qaeda, but we'd like to congratulate the Wisconsin Democrat on his candor. He's had the courage to put on the table what Democrats are all but certain to do if they win either the House or Senate in November.

In fact, our guess is that censure would be the least of it. The real debate in Democratic circles would be whether to pass articles of impeachment.

Articles of Impeachment?

BRING...IT...ON!

The dems lose in '08 if they try that stunt.

They have all lost their minds.

If the Dems would start impeachment with Mr. Bush having 2 years to go on his term it would be an act of insanity.

This is why the Pubbies must win the 2006 elections.

And just another reason why the GOP should nationalize the off year election.

As long as the GOP offers its voters something other than RINOs.

I love the smell of leftist lunacy in the morning.

Not only do they want to block his policies, they also plan to rebuke and embarrass him in front of the world and America's enemies. And they want to do so not because there is a smidgen of evidence that he's abused his office or lied under oath, but because they think he's been too energetic in using his powers to defend America. By all means, let's have this impeachment debate before the election, so voters can know what's really at stake.

This is the money quote. The DemonRats are willing and anxious to frame a sitting President in wartime so they can conduct a coup that will cause us to losse the war. They're a party of traitors.

Finegold's resolution is a gift that keeps on giving. It has wiped out the DemonRats' ability to get to the right of Bush on national security with the fake ports flap and shows them up for the bunch of traitors they are.

Is Rove's plan starting to come together? Bush, under pressure from impeachment over wiretapping resigns to save the office's integrity.

The Dems celebrate their wonderful victory although the American people are outraged.

Cheney picks Jeb Bush as his Vice President, then steps down. Jeb chooses Guilianni as his vice locking up NY for 2008 and Florida. The addition of Jeb keeps the War on Islamic Radicals in full swing and on the same track.

Dems get pounded in the 2008 election due to the impeachment/coup attempt.

Impeachment to the libs is not so much about removing President Bush from office as it is to establish a moral equivalence to Clinton.

When Clinton was impeached,it set him apart from their old enemy,Nixon.
They are hell bent to even that score and to go back to their claims that only Republican Presidents are corrupt.

That is also why they have been obsessed, almost from day one, with saying that President Bush is a liar because perjury was at the core of Clintons impeachment.

NOW that's some Rove kind of thinking that I like - except it being at W's expense - which, is why it won't happen.

It's always better to be setting the election agenda ourselves, but I have to agree with the WSJ, Democrats making this a major election year issue is to our benefit.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way will cover those Democrats who are asking for censure/impeachment and those who are not willing to stand up for what their party believes in. Voters may have a clear choice this year.

The Democrats have handed conservatives a lever. If Bush continues to push for amnesty or more socialism, or if Republicans don't fight for conservative principles they risk losing in '06 and that means impeachment for Bush...and it'll serve him right.

We should also remember that, if the Dims come into power, they will start impeachment procedings even if they know 100% up front that they don't have a leg to stand on. Their only purpose in life is to cripple President Bush (and the country so they can set up a real power over us) and to take the focus off of the fact that they have no other agenda. It really grates them that this Prez will have a legacy that outshines their own Slickmeister slimeball so much that Klinton will be like a candle next to an arc light when history compares him to Bush.

Agreed. The Democrat game plan is and always has been posturing for future elections. They have convinced themselves that this is their best approach to winning.

It has to be driving them nuts, not being able to use the old "everybody does it" excuse.

I particularly enjoy the fact that Johnny McCain, aka Mr Marbles, is forever connected to Feingold via the "Campaign Reform Act of 2002".

That, along with his many other imperfections, [?] should be the choker chain that will keep Johnny at the heel. ;)
